The SWAT Team: Service Without a Trace

Nine years ago, I created a city-wide team to show appreciation to community members. Today, this team has grown to over 60 members all over the state serving peers and other community members in need. We collect food for the local pantry, honor community workers, and “Heart Attack” individuals with words of encouragement anonymously taped to their doors.

WHAT DOES SUCCESS MEAN TO YOU?

To me, success is continually choosing the next right thing. I am on a journey and different opportunities will always come and go. Success is knowing which right opportunities to take and which ones to let pass by. Ultimately, if I can look at myself in the mirror each day with no regret and a whole lot of gratitude, I will be successful.

WHAT DOES SERVICE MEAN TO YOU?

Service truly enriches lives, not only for the recipient but for those who desire to serve. Given the opportunity, people want to be involved but don’t know where to begin. It’s a win-win and we all feel better as a result!
