A Mind To Work Greetings Church Family & Partners, This has been a fleeting year, with spring quickly approaching! As we prepare to enter a new season, I pray that you have incorporated honest evaluation in your regimen in having a mind to work. We cannot forget that the mind is the most powerful tool you have in the natural, for it governs your decisions and direction in life (Proverbs 23:7) In order to ensure that you are operating with a mind to work, let's conduct a quick inventory of two of the traits of successful people. First, let’s look at your work ethic. Having an impeccable work ethic is vital in fulfilling the calling and assignment God has entrusted you with. With the first quarter ending, now is a good time to ask yourself, have you been a good steward with the resources, opportunities, and time (ROT) that God has provided you with, or have you allowed distractions and time-wasters to consume your schedule? Let’s not forget that distractions rob you of the ability to use your time to its fullest potential. I challenge you to take an honest evaluation of your current work ethic. If you have found that you have allowed distractions and idleness to fill your time,
I compel you to make the necessary and appropriate adjustments that will enable you to get back to having a mind to work and doing it with all of your might (Ecclesiastes 9:10) I encourage you to ponder what have you produced in this first quarter of the year. Along with evaluating your work ethic, I encourage you to take inventory of the company you have kept this quarter. Has your company been a driving force in the direction of your assignment or have they been a hindrance in fulfilling your God-given assignment and personal goals? Is your company compatible with the assignment God has given you? Compatible company will enable you to go after what God has called you to do. Remember, your rewards and status in the kingdom will be predicated on how you work and the company you keep. Church Family & Partners, Jesus is SOON to return and I encourage you to keep a mind to work and be about the Father’s Business! Remember, this is the one chance you get to fulfill the mandate on your life. I pray that your vision and mind to work is rejuvenated as we enter this next season of the year! Resurrection Power By First Lady Stephanie
Philippians 3:8 – 10 – 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death There has never been, neither will there ever be, no other truth that has the ability to change lives, like the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Oh, what truth! Oh, what love! Oh, what POWER! The resurrection of Jesus was not just another ordinary story or moment in history for His disciples and those who witnessed it. It was a defining moment in history that changed the lives of millions, forever. Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus should not be limited to a holiday that we celebrate one day in the year; we are meant to live in and operate in resurrection power every day of our life! The same power that raised our Lord from death to life is available to us, moment by moment and day by day; and the sooner we tap into it, we will never again experience defeat! The most important thing in life post salvation is knowing Christ and experiencing the power of His resurrection. Apostle Paul wanted to experience this power, and he did. He articulated his desire in Philippians 3:10 and again in Ephesians 1:19 – 20. Now, by the time he had written these letters, he had already met the Lord while on the road to Damascus and had been a faithful servant of Christ for many years, but here we see him clearly saying, “I want to know Him better”. Apostle Paul’s desire should be the desire of every born – again Believer! You have resurrection power in you. Don’t allow the resurrection of Jesus to be just another story in your life that you celebrate one time in the year. Resurrection power is greater and more powerful than the devil and the kingdoms of this world!
Prayer of Salvation If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, pray the following prayer in faith, and you will be saved! Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. According to Romans 10: 9-10, Jesus I ask you to come into my heart and be Lord over my life. Your word say that "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. I AM SAVED!
Member Spotlight Meet Ms. Loretta Casey! Loretta Casey joined Kingdom Christian Church in March of 2021. She is a semiretired cafeteria worker for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system. Her hobbies include crocheting, sewing, reading and singing. She also enjoys loving on her children and grandchildren when she is able to go home. When asked what led her to join KCC, she stated, “I was led to KCC because of the pandemic lockdowns of my church. I had tried the "zooming call church" thing but it wasn't tangible enough for me. I'm here in Charlotte by myself, while most of my family is in NYC. One evening, I was scrolling through YouTube and found KCC. I had liked what I had heard since it reminded me of my bapti-costal upbringing in the Bronx. I was surprised to find a young preacher sounding like my spiritual father from the early 80s. The next Sunday, I googled maps to find KCC and I was glad I did. One Sunday in March 2021, Pastor Rogers called an altar call and said something that pushed me forward. He said "it doesn't take 12 weeks to become a member". I started laughing and came up because it was exactly 12 weeks since I started visiting KCC. I knew then that the Lord was letting me know that KCC is a " good soil" for me to grow in since I moved here from NYC.”
Healing Testimony By Jalen Moyer
In December, I battled with the hearing in my right ear going in and out. I didn't think it was anything major at first until it started aggravating me every day, from the time I woke up to the time I went to sleep. On January 2, 2022, at the 10 o’clock service, Pastor called an altar call for healing. At first, I was standing at my seat praying and agreeing for others he was laying hands on and miracles were happening. After a few minutes, I decided to go up to the altar myself. He prayed for people before me then he walked up to me and asked me, “What do you need from the Lord?’’ and I told him my hearing had been going in and out for about a month. He said, “Are you ready for it to be totally in?" At that moment, Pastor put oil on his hands, and as soon as he laid his hand on my ear it began to feel cool and his voice began to sound even more clearly with his hand covering my ear. After he removed his hand, Minister Pam covered my left ear while Pastor whispered super low in my right ear. I was able to repeat everything he said word for word without having to say “huh” or ask him to repeat what he said. Still to this day, I can hear clearly out of my right ear.
Baked Salmon with Parmesan Herb Crust Recipe Ingredients 1 salmon filet about 2 pounds, left whole Parmesan Herb Crust: 3 cloves garlic finely minced 1/4 cup chopped parsley 1/2 cup chopped Parmesan cheese Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 425º F. Line rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easiest cleanup. 2. Place salmon, skin side down, onto lined baking sheet. Cover salmon with another piece of parchment paper. Bake salmon for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and remove top piece of parchment paper. Top with garlic, Parmesan and parsley mixture. Return to oven uncovered and allow to bake until the cheese has melted, the baked salmon flakes easily with a fork, and the salmon registers 135º F when checked with an internal thermometer probe, about 5 more minutes. "CLEANING HOUSE" By: Krista Colvin & Kendra Polk
Traditionally, springtime is the season in which people go through their homes and discard things that they no longer need. Just as we make time to clean our physical house, we must also clean out our houses, spiritually. The Bible refers to our bodies being a house in 2 Corinthians 5:1. Pastor Rogers taught about “cleaning house” in a message entitled “Righteousness and Holiness: Cleaning House.” In this message, he talked about how once we are born again, we become the righteousness of God. As a result of that, we should desire to live holy lives. We should want our will to conform to God and be transformed by the renewing of our minds. A part of being transformed requires that we implement regular maintenance and cleaning of our spiritual and physical houses, our bodies, and our souls, which is also a form of deliverance.
To “clean house”, we must protect our ingates. We should not allow any and everything from this world to come into our eyes and ears. We must be very particular about what we watch and what we listen to. With Satan being the god of this world, we know that he controls the airways, social media, and other forms of communication. We must be mindful of what we allow to play in our houses. We must also be mindful of our associations. Who is in your inner court? Who is influencing you? In the event that something does slip in, we must open the door of our house and be repaired (2 Chronicles 29:3). Unforgiveness, envy, and covetousness are examples of things that can slip in. We must confess these things so that we can be healed, allowing us to remove the rubbish from our house. We also have to clean out objects and things from our house. Pastor Rogers discusses how objects and things carry spirits in his book Getting Free and Staying Free. We have to take a radical approach to remove objects and things that carry ungodly spirits. An example given in Pastor Rogers's book is how his friend brought him back masks from pagan countries. He was led by the Holy Spirit to trash those masks because he did not want the demonic spirits attached to those masks to infiltrate his house. We cannot overlook things that appear to be harmless. We have to view everything from a spiritual lens. Paul warned us to not be ignorant of Satan’s devices in 2 Corinthians 2:11. In order to ensure that Satan has no claim over us, we have to rid ourselves of ungodly spirits. Devoting time to cleaning house will enable you to continue walking in freedom!
Influence of Social Media and the World
By Tyson Bates Jr. When looking at the influence of social media and the world from the point of view of a believer, it can be difficult to understand when social media is and is not necessary. Having an account on any social media outlet is not a sin. However, it is extremely important for the bible-based believer to assess whether their account-ownership pulls them closer to or farther away from Christ. In today's world, platforms like Tiktok, Instagram, and Facebook have strong consumer audiences. With these large audiences, often containing billions of people, there is a guarantee that everything posted and shared on these platforms will not be pleasing to God. So how should real Christians respond to these things? We know that "evil communications corrupt good manners" (1 Corinthians 15:33); that's not saying that all social media is evil. However, if something can potentially be a stumbling block, would it not be better to "take heed" (1 Corinthians 10:12)?
Worldly influence is similar to the influence of social media. Both forms of influence are alike because they both have the ability to affect our souls. Upon salvation, your spirit is just as pure as Jesus’ (1 John 4:17). As a result, our spirits are incapable of being influenced, penetrated, or altered. However, souls can fluctuate in many different ways. One of the reasons they can fluctuate is because of what we allow in our ingates. That is why it's important to assess what we, as believers, watch, listen to, read, participate in, and do. All these categories do one of two things: lead us closer to the cross, or take us farther away from it.
