In this day, it is imperative that you can clearly hear and distinguish the voice of God. Hearing correctly is essential to living and walking in victory in every area of your life. We are in a time of great deception. This culture, if you are not careful and alert, can distract and discourage the Believer with all types of news and disparity. As Believers, it is our job to remain fortified against the noise and distractions that are amplified in this culture. Hearing correctly and having the ability to distinguish, on any given day if a voice is God, you, or the devil, is vital in making wise decisions. Being sensitive to the Spirit of God has a lot to do with being able to distinguish how to break down information. Your ability to distinguish good from evil also enables you to refrain from being discouraged. Having the capability to distinguish the difference in those voices comes from cultivating your relationship with God and maturing spiritually. It is through constant use and cultivation of the spiritual gifts that one is empowered and equipped to distinguish and hear God correctly (Hebrews 5:13-14 & 1 Corinthians 14:1).
Hearing God correctly requires one to become more spiritual and put away things of carnality. One way in which this is accomplished is through prayer and fasting. As you peel back the flesh, your ability to hear God clearly will grow and develop even more. God speaks in a variety of ways to include His Word, your inward man (Colossians 3:15), godly counsel (Proverbs 12:15), and dreams & visions (Job 33:14-18). God is a talking God and it is imperative that as believers we are attuned and sensitive to His voice.
I encourage you to earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual gifts and your relationship with God in this season (1 Corinthians 14:1 AMP). Remember, you have a promise to hear from God according to John 5:20. The Father loves you and shows you what He does!
