Move as Directed by God
Matthew 26:19-21
New King James Version
“So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them; and they prepared the Passover.”
Matthew 21:6
New King James Version
“So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.”
God bless you partners and friends!
God has been so good to bring us to this moment in time by which we are able to say that we are in the land of the living and blessed. I am so happy to have you as members and partners of KCC. Our path is getting brighter and brighter by the moment, and we praise God for this. The church is growing by leaps and bounds and the people who are really tapped in are going to new levels in God. It has quickened in me lately to remind you as believers to allow God the Father, the Holy Spirit and Jesus to “direct you in life.” So many Christians are making huge mistakes because they are on a “self-guided tour” in their lives, and they are not being led by God. There is such a thing as you not making “huge errors in life”. In our theme verses, Matthew 26:18 as well as Matthew 21:6, the disciples allowed Jesus to order their steps even though the path seemed to be a little vague. As is expected in both scenarios when they followed Jesus, everything worked in their favor. If you and I knew that outcomes would be in our favor if we follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, wouldn’t it make sense to do so? Of course the answer is “yes” So why is it so difficult for so many Christians to be led by God? Because there are so many things in this world that compete with the will and plan of God for our lives. For example, “people who carry spirits are always seeking to get you off track.” Hear what God has to say about people and crowds that are sent to mislead you:
Exodus 23:2
New King James Version
“ You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice.”
There are crowds of people that will always seek to get you off of God’s preordained path These crowds can be family members, co-workers and “public opinion on matters.” When people are pulling you out of the will of God, “don’t follow them.” As a Pastor, I’ve seen so many people do well for a season and then they begin to listen to the wrong person or persons and it totally throws them off track. They usually end up backsliding and their lives spiral downward. Christians also get off track by listening to their “own opinions about their path in life.” Hear what the Proverb writer had to say about this:
Proverbs 18:1-2
New King James Version
1 2
A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment
A fool has no delight in understanding, But in expressing his own heart.
I love Proverbs 18:1-2 because it is spot on as it relates to people cutting off all “wise counsel” and listening to their own rhetoric. Hear me good people of God, “once you start listening only to yourself, you are headed for a great fall.” Also allow trusted believers that your Pastor assigned to help you and never cut off the leading of the Holy Spirit. It is the role of the Holy Spirit to lead us into “all truths” (John 16:13). Don’t despise the leading of the Holy Spirit because He is there to help you make it in this wicked world. Remember the disciples in both of our theme verses moved as “Jesus directed”. Will you do the same? Know that Pastor Rogers is praying for you and we love you and only want the best for you in your life!

Prayer of Salvation
If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, pray the following prayer in faith, and you will be saved! Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. According to Romans 10: 9-10, Jesus I ask you to come into my heart and be Lord over my life. Your word says that "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.
I AM SAVED!
Press On
Philippians 3:13 - 14
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus
Even though Paul had been converted many years prior to this writing, here he reveals that he had not yet arrived. He’s been at it for many years; he has known Christ for many years, but here he is dissatisfied with where he is. He recognizes that although he has accomplished much, he still needs to advance in his walk He is resolved to know Christ better and with single minded focus, he makes the decision to press on. Yesterday’s glory and experiences aren’t good enough for today, so he is determined to press on. He makes a Holy Spirit empowered choice to never allow memories of his past to absorb his attention and impede his progress, and he determines to press on.
To press on means to follow or press hard towards, literally to pursue as one does an enemy It carries the idea of an intense effort to obtain something It refers to a disposition of an intense endeavor. The picture is that of an Olympic athlete who becomes a winning athlete and receives a gold medal, not only by watching films and working out, but because they enter a race determined to win! This was Paul’s disposition in life, and it must be yours as well. You must make it a habit of your life to always press on! You will never go forward when you are constantly looking back You must rid yourself from the spirit of “what’s the use?” This is not the time or the place for you to sit on your laurels No longer be satisfied and content with where you are today, with no desire to do better, grow or progress. It’s time to rise and do all that God has called you to do. Press On!

Meet the Joyners!
Jeffrey Michael "Mike" Joyner and Averlorne Joyner have been members of Kingdom Christian Church since March 2024. Mike works as a Maintenance Supervisor, and Averlorne is a Human Resources Professional. In their leisure time, Mike enjoys watching football, while Averlorne loves learning, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family. Their shared love for attending church adds another layer of connection and joy to their lives.
Their journey to Kingdom Community Church (KCC) began two years ago at a marriage conference. Captivated by Pastor Rogers' heartfelt dedication to fostering marriages according to God's design, they felt drawn to the church Since joining, they have experienced God's miraculous healing, particularly in their daughter Esther’s life, and significant blessings that have strengthened their faith. Their commitment to giving and their marriage have grown stronger, and they are deeply grateful for Pastor Rogers' leadership and the supportive KCC community.
Kiva’s testimony!
In October 2021, I parted ways with a company I deeply valued due to COVID-19 mandates. Shortly thereafter, I pursued my dream of opening an event venue. Regrettably, the venue struggled due to a few missteps and I had to close the doors For 2 years after closing the doors to my venue, my income was inconsistent I relied totally on my husband as well as catering and event decorating jobs to provide additional earnings.
In late December 2023, during a private moment of prayer, I distinctly heard reassurance from the Lord saying: "I've got your back." Encouraged by this, I declared that 2024 would bring significant personal changes.
At the start of 2024, Pastor Rogers delivered a message prophesying a breakthrough year, which resonated with me. His words affirmed what I had already heard from God. During this same message, Pastor Rogers stated "I am convinced, God is backing me" Pastor Rogers declared God was validating our vision, our words, and our seeds; this was building my faith!
Throughout early 2024, I attended five job interviews, each offering positive feedback but ultimately selecting other candidates. Despite setbacks, I remained steadfast, believing for a six-figure salaried position. I sowed $100 into Pastor Rogers on three different occasions while believing God for my job to manifest.
During a getaway, I received a call from an interviewer suggesting I apply for a Sr. Analyst position in Business Continuity on a Risk Management Team that was soon to open. I applied and participated in two additional panel interviews with confidence. After completing the final interview, I received an offer from the company Though the salary was slightly below my initial target, the inclusion of a 12% annual bonus assured me of reaching six figures, aligning perfectly with what I was believing God to do
I'm extremely thankful to God for answering my prayers and reinforcing my faith throughout this journey. God is truly a rewarder to those that diligently seek him. I encourage everyone to trust in God's promises, no matter the circumstances. SOW SEED AND STAY IN FAITH as God's word does indeed come to pass. Be Blessed – Kiva Pender (a women of great faith)
BBQChickenSkewerSalad
Ingredients
for the salad:
4 ears corn
2 tbsp avocado oil
8 cups thinly sliced romaine lettuce or 2 small heads
6 green onions thinly sliced (green part only)
2 cups quartered grape tomatoes or 16 ounces
1 [15-ounce] can black beans, drained and rinsed
¼ cup loosely packed freshly chopped cilantro leaves
2 tbsp freshly chopped basil leaves
1 avocado peeled and seed removed and diced medium
for the chicken skewers:
2pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
3 tbsp avocado oil
1 tsp kosher salt
2 cups bbq sauce I use Primal Kitchen brand
8 [6-inch] wooden skewers pre-soaked
Instructions
Using a meat mallet or the bottom of a heavy skillet, pound the chicken until it is a uniform ½ inch thickness. Cube into 2-inch pieces and place in a large bowl with the oil, salt, and 1 cup of bbq sauce. Stir until well combined. Set aside to let marinate for at least 20 minutes at room temperature.
Drizzle the corn with the avocado oil and rub to evenly coat
Heat grill over medium-high heat (350-400 degrees F) and oil the grill grates (to do to this, dip a wadded paper towel in a little oil and, using tongs, wipe the oil evenly over the grate )
When hot, add the corn and cook until tender, about 10-12 minutes total and turning every 2 minutes Meanwhile, also place the skewers on the grill and cook on the first side for 3 to 4 minutes, or until nice grill marks have formed
Flip the skewers and then baste the grilled side generously with the reserved BBQ sauce, Continue to cook until chicken is cooked through and nice grill marks have formed on both sides, 3-4 more minutes. The grill should be closed as much as possible as you are cooking the chicken. Transfer the corn and the chicken aside and let the corn cool enough to handle.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl combine the lettuce, green onions, tomatoes, black beans, cilantro and basil Add your desired amount of dressing to the salad and toss until the lettuce is well coated
Remove the corn from the cobb and add to the salad along with the diced avocado, gently toss once more to combine
Serve with the grilled chicken and your dressing of choice!
