Five Ways to Include Jesus in Your Summer Vacation

Summer is officially here! Our minds are shifting from our usual daily affairs to more recreational activities. While rest is important, it is vital that we do not “leave Jesus at home” as we travel and enjoy our summer vacation. Notice what Jesus told the disciples in Mark 6:31 NLT. “Then Jesus said, ‘Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest a while.’” Even when it was time for the disciples to take some time and rest, Jesus invited them to go away with Him. He desires to be intricately involved in every part of our lives, so here are five quick tips on how to keep Jesus included in your summer vacation.

Maintain your prayer regimen. Take some time in the mornings and in the evenings to reflect on the goodness of the Lord and thank Him for giving you “times of refreshing”.

Evangelize. If presented with the opportunity, be a “worker together with Christ” and minister salvation to a lost soul.

Uphold your Christian character. Refuse to participate in anything that contradicts your Christian values.

Walk in love. Be mindful to treat others with love and kindness. It may open the door to an evangelistic opportunity. Use wisdom. Be Spirit-led in all travel plans and activities to ensure a safe and peaceful vacation.

Remember, Jesus is coming back real soon, so let’s keep Him at the core of everything we do. Have a great summer!
