Great Things Come in Small Packages

Micah 5:2

The Coming Messiah

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.”

God bless you members and partners! I trust that you are having a tremendous holiday season. We are only days away from Christmas and as some may say, “it’s the most wonderful time of the year!” I have always loved Christmas because the holiday pumps a great dose of love in the air for so many. We are looking forward to receiving gifts, eating good food and laughing with those closest to us. However, we can’t forget the “reason for the season,” Christmas is still about the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is without exception that we as Believers should be heralding the birth of Christ for everyone around us to know our love for Him. Jesus is the greatest gift ever given.

The idea of “great things coming in small packages” is often used for gift packaging that seems small at first, but once you open it, you realize that it is a package of great value. For example, a young lady this holiday season may get a small box only to open it and realize that it is an engagement ring for a long-term commitment called marriage. The birth of Christ works alongside the metaphor of “great things coming in small packages.” In Jesus‘s case, He came from a small town called Bethlehem. Bethlehem was not the most desirable place to live in and it was not known for having many great people to ascend from it, however Jesus did. The revelation of Jesus coming from Bethlehem needs to be understood through the eyes of faith. We should know that small beginnings don’t mean minimal results in the future. In fact in God, it’s just the opposite, starting out little turns into very big when you're walking with the Lord. Hear what the book of Job had to say about this truth:

Job 8:7

King James Version

Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

So we see again this idea of starting out small and moving to a place of “great increase.” Far too many Christians today are missing out on some of the largest blessings of our time because they don’t know how to handle “small beginnings.” In fact, most Believers “loathe” or “despise” small beginnings. Hear the advice of the Old Testament prophet:

Zechariah 4:10

New Living Translation

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”

In your Bible, highlight and underline this phrase, “do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” When God says through a prophet “do not do something,” it is not a suggestion that is optional. When God says don’t do something, it is a command. That is, every Christian is commanded to “not despise the small beginnings of faith and manifestation.” What does this look like you might ask? If you are believing for healing, thank God for every segment of manifestation. If your whole arm was paralyzed including your fingers, yet at a point you can move your fingers, “praise God loudly for the progress.” This is a small beginning but it’s a seed for more progress towards full healing manifestation. Soon enough by faith, you’ll be moving the whole arm in perfect health, praise God! If you are believing for a house and have $10 towards the down payment, save that, or sow it and thank God for the fact that more is coming; $10 can turn into $10,000 real fast when you start walking by faith. Further, “THE LORD REJOICES TO SEE THE WORK BEGIN,” do you rejoice to see the work begin? If God doesn’t see things as small, why do we? The key is to not despise Bethlehem, the small place. Bethlehem is a town in Judea. Notice how we progress from Judea to the uttermost parts of the world:

Acts 1:8

New King James Version

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

In the text above, the Gospel grew progressively throughout the earth. It started in one region but expanded to the world as it is today. Jesus started in Bethlehem, but now He is a household name everywhere!

What does this have to do with our ministry you might ask? Well, we are believing God for some capital expansions on our property towards a new sanctuary, K through 12 school, plane, Grace House ministry expansion and a national broadcast. I am not despising the day of a small beginning! Today, our broadcast reaches millions, but we can reach billions! We recently had a very successful meeting with the city concerning our building projects and are well on our way towards next steps in the process. What am I asking my partners to do as we grow from Bethlehem to the ends of the earth? We need you to pray and sow towards these expansions. Many of you would desire to get a great seed in by the end of the year, why not plant it into the tried-and-true ground of Kingdom Christian Church? Prayerfully consider being a difference maker before the year is up, I believe that partnership makes it happen. Thank you so very much for your continued support and I look forward to continuing to represent God and all of my partners on the front line!

Love You,

The Greatest Gift

If you ask 50 people what Christmas means to them, you are likely to get 50 different answers. Christmas means so many things to so many people, but to me and others who share the same sentiments, Christmas is another reminder in the year of the love that God has for me and for all humanity. Jesus is and will always be the reason for the season!

The historical fact of His birth is a story that is well known and one that remains forever treasured in my heart. It is a story of redemption, love, and hope. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

This verse gives us a clear understanding of why Jesus was born. God looked into this world that is so affected by sin, and He saw the condition of mankind. He saw me, He saw you, and He saw that we were going to die because of sin and be eternally lost in hell. Because of His great love for us, He decided to send someone else to bear our punishment and die our death, giving us the opportunity to live an abundant life on earth and, one day, live with Him eternally in Heaven.

It is for this first and greatest reason that Jesus was born. He was born to be our substitute. Although He was sinless and innocent, He died our death and paid our penalty for sin. His coming was God’s amazing gift to humanity, and it is unlike any other gift you have or will ever receive.

The greatest gift that anyone can receive this Christmas is the free gift of eternal life that only comes through repentance and placing one’s faith in what Jesus did on the cross. If you have not received Jesus, God’s indescribable gift, I urge you to do so by acknowledging and receiving Him as Lord and Savior and yielding the highest place in your life to Him. He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly."

(Revelation 22:20)

YOUNG MEN SUCCEEDING

Kingdom Christian Church (KCC) stands apart from other churches by celebrating success at all stages of life. This year, KCC has witnessed a remarkable wave of young men thriving in their faith and love for God. National statistics reveal that only 47% of men aged 18-29 identify as evangelical Christians, and just 10-20% of young men in the same age range own homes. Moreover, only 20% of U.S. adults in this age group are married. Yet, at KCC, the story is different. The testimonies below highlight the powerful impact God is having on the lives of these young men.

DAVE ROBERTS

My parents decided to join KCC when I was a young boy around 10 years ago I started my journey in the youth ministry My life has been nothing short of blessed because of this ministry The first and best decision I could ever have made was giving my life to Christ at KCC as a young man. My Pastor taught me about being different and that it's okay to be married at a young age. I made a resolute decision and started preparing for my future. Shortly after I got a house and got married in the same year I also have an awesome daughter and another child on the way I’m beyond grateful for what God has done for me In addition to getting a house, getting married, and having a child I also graduated from Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Academy in April 2024

NASIR ROBERTS

I started attending KCC with my family when I was just 10 years old. Growing up in the youth ministry, the message that I could be set apart from today’s culture always stood out to me. During my senior year of high school, many people, including my pastor, told me I was “different” from other young men, and that really stuck with me Marriage was always a big goal for me, so I sought godly counsel to grow as a man of God and prepare to be a godly husband Through mentorship and discipleship, I learned to date with purity In August 2023, I began dating Tia Rogers, and after dating in purity, I shared with my pastor that I wanted to propose. On November 15th, I proposed, and she said yes! I believe my success comes from listening to God, godly counsel, and applying what my pastor teaches. I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without God and the people He has placed in my life

JEFFREY RION

I succeeded because I listened to my Pastor, sowed into good ground, and had faith for my harvest I’ve been a member at KCC since December 2016, and began my home-buying journey in April 2024. Through mentorship with my Pastor and the Kingdom Property Group, I quickly found the right home. Thanks to my Pastor’s example, I had saved for a down payment. However, the lender I chose wasn’t diligent, and my mortgage fell through. After speaking with my Pastor, he advised, "Do everything you can in the natural, and leave the rest to God " I followed this guidance, worked with my KPG agent, and ensured everything was ready for the second underwriting process With faith, daily gratitude, and consistent sowing, I successfully closed on August 6, 2024. I’m grateful to God, my Pastor, and my KPG agent for their support. Proverbs 15:22 says, “Plans fail when there is no counsel, but with many advisers, they succeed,” and my counsel helped me succeed!

My journey at KCC over the past four years has been transformational. Under Pastor Rogers’ discipleship, I’ve grown both spiritually and financially. Through his teachings on finances, I trusted God and sowed sacrificially into the ministry and the man of God, which led to supernatural breakthroughs By April 2024, I was completely debt-free, and with newfound financial freedom, I pursued homeownership by faith Today, I stand as a pleased homeowner a reflection of God’s faithfulness and the life-changing impact of being a member of KCC under Pastor Rogers’ guidance.

LUKE GRAHAM

I visited KCC for the first time in September 2023 Shortly after on September 12 sister Stephanie Baheth led me to salvation. After this I became a member and was baptized at KCC. Once becoming a member, I had the honor of being discipled by Pastor Rogers himself. Through this discipleship and sowing into the Church and the man of God, I received increase in every area of my life and I was able to purchase my first home in November 2024! I would say to anyone looking for increase in their life, listen and be obedient to wise counsel from people above you and continue to sow into good ground Keep praying about what you are believing God for. Stay in faith and thank God in advance because the victory is yours!

KEON HENTON

I’ve been a member of KCC for one year, and as I grew in the ministry, I started believing God for a six-figure income At the Faith Conference 2024, Pastor Rogers spoke about the Midianites as robbers of our harvest (Judges 6:3-4) I realized that mismanagement was the Midianite hindering my progress, and I needed to be faithful with what God had already entrusted to me. This led me to start budgeting and cutting back. Following Pastor Roger’s advice, I asked the Holy Spirit how much to sow and was led to give $500. Though unexpected, I gave cheerfully, trusting God as my provider Soon after, a flood of recruiters reached out with opportunities in the salary range I’d been believing for I pursued one, and through consistent sowing, prayer, and God’s blessing, I’m now earning a six-figure income Glory to God!

REGGIE HARPER

In the last eight years, God has blessed me tremendously through Pastor Rogers and this ministry – I have graduated with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree, gotten married to the love of my life, been gainfully employed, bought a home, have had a son with another baby on the way, and so much more. I have also learned that my God-given assignment is developing youth to become strong Christians in a dying world – and have had the privilege to lead our youth ministry for the last two and a half years. For every young man who desires to be successful, I’d point them in the direction of Isaiah 1:19 – be willing and obedient to do everything your God-given mentor tells you to do, and you will experience the best that God has to offer!

Pastor Rogers' Books

Meet Larry and Annie Graham! They were invited to attend Kingdom Christian Church by Stephanie Baheth and were led by the Lord to join shortly after on September 14, 2023.

Larry enjoys reading and spending time with Annie by the fireplace. Annie’s favorite things to do include gardening and long walks on the beach with Larry.

Galatians 6:7-10 (J.B. Phillips)

“Don’t be under any illusion: you cannot make a fool of God! A man ’ s harvest in life will depend entirely on what he sows If he sows for his own lower nature his harvest will be the decay and death of his own nature But if he sows for the Spirit he will reap the harvest of everlasting life by that Spirit Let us not grow tired of doing good, for, unless we throw in our hand, the ultimate harvest is assured. Let us then do good to all men as opportunity offers, especially to those who belong to the Christian household.”

“Every decision you make today will determine how you live tomorrow.”

TIPS ON HOW TO HANDLE GRIEF & SORROW DURING THE SEASONHoliday

The holiday season is a time many look forward to with joy, but for those grieving, it can be a season of deep sorrow and pain. While others celebrate, you may find yourself struggling to get through each day. If you ’ re facing grief this holiday season, know that you are not alone. Below are a few practical and spiritual tips to help you navigate this difficult time.

1. Create New Traditions

If past traditions feel too painful, consider starting new ones. For example, traveling during the holidays to new destinations or creating new experiences will allow you to make new memories. New traditions can also provide a sense of purpose and healing.

2. Lean on Your Faith

For Christians, grief can be tempered with the hope found in Christ. Turn to Scripture for comfort, meditate on God’s promises, and remind yourself of the eternal hope we have through Jesus. In moments of sorrow, know that God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and offers peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7).

3. Reach Out for Support

Don’t isolate yourself. Share your feelings with trusted family members, friends, or a church community. Sometimes, talking about your loss and having someone simply listen can be healing. If your grief feels overwhelming, consider seeking support from a counselor or a discipleship partner.

4. Practice Self-Care

Grieving can be physically and emotionally exhausting. Make sure you ’ re caring for your body and mind. Get enough rest, eat nourishing food, and engage in activities that bring peace, whether it’s a quiet walk, reading, or spending time in prayer.

5. Remember the True Meaning of the Season

The holidays, especially Christmas, remind us of the birth of Jesus, who came to bring hope to a broken world. Reflecting on the significance of Christ’s coming can provide comfort in the midst of sorrow. Jesus Himself experienced pain and loss, and He promises to walk with us through our suffering.

In conclusion, grieving during the holiday season is not easy, but you don’t have to carry the burden alone. By acknowledging your feelings, leaning on your faith, and seeking support, you can find ways to cope with the sorrow while still honoring the season. Remember, God sees your pain, and He is with you every step of the way.
