Hello Church Family and Partners! I pray this letter finds you doing well and prospering in all things, even as your soul is prospering. We acknowledge the goodness of the LORD for bringing us to the close of another year, favorably. As we are on the eve of a new year, should the LORD delay His coming, I am convinced there will be much expansion and growth in the Kingdom. The LORD has ministered to my heart that it’s time to “God Big”. It’s time to expand. It’s time to grow. As a ministry and within our individual life, it is important that we come to the realization that God is capable of doing more. Our mind must be reshaped to a place where we are fully convinced of the reality that God can do more than what we see and that He has the power to get it done (Romans 4:21). Essentially, in order to “Go Bigger”, we must “Believe Bigger”.
“And the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, “See now, the place where we dwell with you is too small for us.” 2 Kings 6:1 NKJV
Prayer of
Commit to the following three adjustments to “Go Bigger” in your life: Mind Adjustment - You will need to adjust, or change, the way you think (Proverbs 23:7) Word Adjustment - You will need to adjust the way you talk. I call this “big speaking” that does not limit God. Conversations that you have within yourself and with others should always reflect the bigness of God and His limitless power in your life (Matthew 12:34). Image Adjustment - You will need a confident, not arrogant, intrinsic image of yourself that is based on God’s Word (Ephesians 2:10). God loves you and wants to do more for you. As we prepare for expansion and growth in the upcoming year, I encourage you to no longer allow God’s ability to be limited by your capacity to believe for bigger (Psalm 78:41). Do something today that demonstrates you believe He has the power to do it.

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. 2. In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and brown sugar together. Be sure to break up any clumps of brown sugar. Set aside. Note: If pecans are desired, mix them with the brown sugar and cinnamon. 3. In a medium bowl, add the cake mix, eggs, oil and sour cream. Mix these ingredients together for about 3-5 minutes using a spatula (by hand). 4. Allow the cake mixture to rest for about 10 minutes. 5. Pour half of the cake mixture in a 9x13 pan. Spread it around evenly using a spatula. 6. Pour the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture on top of the cake mixture in the 9x13 pan. Spread that out evenly using the back of a spoon or fork. 7. Pour the remaining cake mixture on top of the cinnamon and
CAKE INGREDIENTS: 1 BOX BUTTER YELLOW CAKE MIX (BETTY CROCKER) 4 EGGS (ROOM TEMPERATURE) 8OZ SOUR CREAM (ROOM TEMPERATURE) 3/4 CUP OF VEGETABLE OIL 1 TABLESPOON OF CINNAMON 1 CUP OF BROWN SUGAR PECANS (OPTIONAL)
brown sugar mixture. Spread that out evenly using a spatula. 8. Once you have all three layers in the pan, take a butter knife and cut into the mixture. You can make swirls. Be sure not to stir the mixture with the knife. 9. Place the pan in the pre-heated oven. 10. Bake for 40-50 minutes. The top should be golden brown. Test the inside of the cake by sticking a toothpick in the center. It should be clean when removed from the cake. 11. Mix the powdered sugar, vanilla and milk/heavy cream. Start with one tablespoon of milk/heavy cream. Add more until the mixture is the consistency of a pourable glaze. Note: If heavy cream is used, you may have to add a little water if the mixture is too thick.
GLAZE INGREDIENTS: 2 CUPS OF POWERED SUGAR 1 TABLESPOON OF VANILLA 1 TO 3 TABLE SPOONS OF MILK OR HEAVY CREAM
12. Once the cake is removed from the oven, immediately pour the glaze on top of the whole cake. 13. Allow the cake to cool before serving. As the cake and glaze cools, the glaze will crackle a little. Serve warm.

It’s that time of year again! Around the world, many Christians are eagerly preparing to recognize and celebrate the virgin birth of our LORD, Jesus Christ. Christmas trees are adorned with beautiful ornaments, gifts are being purchased and wrapped and the sounds of Christmas ring throughout homes, malls and the streets. A beautiful blanket of snow would be the icing on the cake! Truly, this is the most joyous and wonderful time of the year! Additionally, for me, Christmas is also a time of solemn reflections as I ponder what the birth of my Lord means to me. Doubtless, I am so incredibly thankful for His birth!! As I think about His birth and its impact upon my life, so many words come to mind; hope, peace, joy; but most of all, redemption. The true meaning of Christmas is what God did for us, in Christ. Matthew 1:21 records, “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Ever since the fall of man, God’s redemptive plan for humanity was always to send His Son. All of us have sinned, the Bible says (Romans 3:23). We have done things that are wrong, said things that we should not have said, and have entertained wrong thoughts. Sin had destructive effects in our life and made us guilty before God. It also enslaved us and separated us from God, forever. BUT, when Jesus came “to save us from our sins”, things were reversed! That is GOOD NEWS! God loves you and me so much that He sent His Son to die for our sins affording us the opportunity to one day live with Him eternally (John 3:16; Romans 5:8). Hallelujah! The greatest gift of
Christmas is to embrace the love of God by receiving the gift of His Son as Savior and LORD. If you have not done so, I invite you to ask Jesus into your heart and make Him Lord of your life. You will then have a “Merry Christmas”. Anticipating His Return, Lady Rogers
1. Share Jesus with a FRAN (Friends, Relatives, Associates and Neighbors) - Sharing the gospel will help to spread joy and the love of God. Learning to grow and know Jesus is the greatest gift of all! 2. Keep a positive attitude with others – The holidays are a great time to be of good cheer. It helps to make the season’s bright. Be aware of your “love walk” at all times. 3. Display random acts of kindness – Send a card to someone or invite someone out to lunch/dinner who may be experiencing a trial or hardship. 4. Donate goods or services to those in need - Donate your time and resources to those in need or volunteer at a non-profit organization such as an assisted living facility or homeless shelter. 5. Participate in an “Adopt a Family” to help a family in need - God loves a cheerful giver and the Christmas season is a great opportunity to give to a family that may not have the resources to provide for their family.

The Mistletoe: The mistletoe is used by many in order to display romance during the Christmas season. Though the bible permits romance in the correct settings (marriage between husband and wife), Christians should look into the root of secular tradition before indulging into the traditions themselves. The mistletoe is traced back to Greek marriage ceremonies, and has multiple appearances in German mythology as well. In looking into the roots of the mistletoe, it was revealed that it has multiple connections to the god “Baldur”. Baldur is known by many as the god of light, joy, purity, and the summer sun in Norse mythology. These are direct biblical contradictions because we serve a God who is the light (John 8:12), whose presence is the fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11), the creator of these are direct biblical contradictions because we serve a God who is the light (John 8:12), whose presence is the fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11), the creator of purity (Matt 5:8), and the maker of the sun (Genesis 1:16). Participating in the tradition of the mistletoe not only causes someone to indirectly connect themselves to a false god, but it aligns them with unbiblical habits and tradition. Santa Claus: Santa Claus is simply a perversion of what Christmas should really be about. The enemy has never been the creator of anything, so the only tactic he has is to pervert what God has already created. For example: He didn’t create divine health, so his only tactic in the earth realm is to make the believer believe sickness is “common to man”, and that healthiness of the mortal body is only given to whomever God chooses. Even though believers know God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). Satan, in the same way, has used the notoriety of “Santa'' in order to divert the actual meaning of Christmas. which is to celebrate the birth of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. No born again believer should be inclined to put any emphasis on a made up man who is given supernatural ability (“He knows when you are sleeping, He knows when you’re awake”). Knowing that Jesus is the real reason for the season should be enough for the born again spirit filled believer to abstain from traditions rooted in idolatry. Elves: Why would “Santa Claus”, a fake giver of gifts with supernatural ability, need helpers? Potentially because the spirit realm's most powerful negative entity (satan) is the director of the kingdom of hell. And in hell, many demons (former angels) reside (Revelation 12:9). It is abundantly clear that the devils perversion of Christmas is another form of copying and pasting what God has already created. The Christian has no reason to participate in tradition that is unpleasant to God. Yuletide: Around this time of the year, the word “yuletide” may appear in many songs, shows, movies, etc. For example : “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose, Yuletide carols being sung by a choir.” Those are lyrics from a popular Christmas song that is sung often during the Christmas season. For the Christian that sees no harm in the word “Yuletide”, they’ll take it for its meaning at face value. “A word defining the entirety of the Christmas season”. However the words actual meaning is: “Yule or Yuletide ("Yule time") is a festival observed by the historical Germanic peoples. Scholars have connected the celebration to the Wild Hunt and the god Odin.”(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yule). So by repeating the word in song and tradition, one can indirectly be celebrating a false god, Odin. “Odin is a god in Norse mythology, who was associated with healing, death, knowledge, sorcery, poetry, battle and the runic alphabet”-(greekmythology.com). Is a word worth the indirect recognition of a false god with ability similar to the one and true living God? No, it is not.
Five Easy Tips to Evangelize During the Holiday Season: By: Krista Colvin
The holiday season is the perfect window of opportunity to share God’s love and to evangelize to those you may encounter! As you are primed with prayer for wisdom and guidance on how to evangelize this holiday season, here are a few tips that you can incorporate into your evangelistic practices! Shop with a purpose- While you are out shopping for the holidays take advantage of the long lines and crowded stores. Instead of being in a hurry, allot additional time for purposeful conversations with those you may bump into or those who are waiting in line with you.
Brush up on the salvation prayer- Revisit Romans 10:9 to ensure that you are always prepared and ready for someone to accept your invitation to receive Christ! Include a Gospel tract & church card inside of your Christmas cards- Christmas cards are a traditional part of the holiday season, include a tract and church card to add an evangelistic element to a popular holiday tradition.
Give with evangelism in mind- Christmas is a season of giving and gifts are an excellent way to share God’s love. This season consider giving evangelistic gifts to your friends, family members, co-workers, and neighbors as a way to share the Gospel. Share God’s love through serving- The holidays are a great opportunity to give back through service with your families. Be prayerful about ways you can serve those around you this holiday season who may be hurting or in need
Believing that Jesus loves you can be made easy once one of His followers have shown that love to you! During this holiday season, I compel you to share the priceless gift of the Gospel of Christ! Don’t forget that sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ is a privilege! “By God’s grace and mighty power, I have been given the privilege of serving him by spreading this Good News.” – Ephesians 3:7 (NLT)
Living Supernaturally By Kendra Polk
As the world becomes more wicked and diabolical, it is necessary now, more than ever, that Christians live supernaturally. One of the reasons why it is so vital for us to live supernaturally is because everything that happens in the natural, first happens in the supernatural (or in the spirit realm). In order for us to be sober and vigilant, we must focus on being spiritual. Living supernaturally allows us to stay ahead of the enemy and his attacks. When we accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for our sins and God raised Him from the dead, we became adopted into the family of God. Our spirits were renewed and our old sinful nature died. God’s Holy Spirit dwells in us. We are to set our sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand (Colossians 3:1 NLT). The Bible says that we should “think about things of heaven, not things of earth. For you died to this life and your real life is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:2-3 NLT). We are seated together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6). Jesus told unbelievers in John 8:23 that He is from above, not of this world. We cannot look at the circumstances of this world and allow them to distract us from living spiritually. By doing so, it discredits our faith in the promises of God. For the righteous it shall be well. According to Romans 8:6b, living spiritually is that of life and peace.
What does supernatural living look like for the believer? Practically speaking, we must show mercy, be kind, be humble, be gentle and have patience (Colossians 3:12). We must also forgive others as God forgives us (Colossians 3:13). The most important thing is that we must clothe ourselves in love (Colossians 3:14). Living supernaturally requires us to live beyond our five senses. We have to intentionally show kindness, forgive those who wrong us, and love people how God loves them. Spiritually, we must continue to deepen our relationship with God through prayer and studying His Word. We have to allow ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit. We must obey His instructions with pure hearts. Should we need an example of how to live supernaturally, we can study the life of Jesus. He demonstrated how to live in this world and not be of this world. Live supernaturally. Stay with God no matter what this world does and He will keep His promises of protection, health, prosperity and eternal life.

Krista Colvin joined Kingdom Christian Church on February 25, 2021. She is a graduate student at UNC Charlotte. Her hobbies include cooking & baking, writing, and running. When asked what led her to join KCC, she stated “I transferred to UNCC in 2018 and knew that Charlotte would become my home. After searching for a church in Charlotte, one of my medical providers from Raleigh told me about KCC and compelled me to visit. After a few months, I finally visited. From the moment I walked in, I felt so embraced and welcomed and knew that KCC was my home! KCC has definitely been an answered prayer!”
