Faith Comes: It's What You Do With It That Counts
Romans 10:17
New King James Version
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Greetings partners!
God is so amazing to have brought us to another season of our annual Faith Conference! I am so excited about jumping in head first to the topic of faith. As many of you know, our conference theme borders Romans 10:17 annually. The main ingredient of this verse is the fact that “faith does come” and we know that faith will continue to come as we feast on the Word of God. However, many Christians are at a loss once faith comes. You may be asking how? The answer is simple. So many people don’t do anything with the faith that came! Think about it. We hear the Word of God week in and week out and very few Christians have the faith outcomes to show that they received faith. This is a scripturally backed deficit in the church. Hear the Word of the Lord on this fallacy:
2 Timothy 3:7
always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
It is a tragic truth that many believers take the medicine of the Word of God but never walk out healing. Others receive the word concerning financial prosperity, but never gain a dime more than what they had the first time they heard Gospel preaching. The problem for most people in this matter is their lack of “continuous application.” James was an expert on what we should be doing with our faith that we gained from hearing the Word of God:
James 1:22
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves
James 2:18
But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
From the verses above we understand that continuous application of the Word of God is about “doing something with the word you received.” The great Smith Wigglesworth has been quoted as saying “faith is an act.” So many Christians today are full of faith, but they never act it out
therefore they don’t receive faith results. Friends, at some point you must take your teaching and apply it to your lives. When I’m genuinely in faith, I will do something to demonstrate that I believe what God told me through his word. Again, “faith does come, it’s what you do with it once you get it.” Some years ago, I was given a keyboard to expand my piano ability. My parents bought me the wonderful Alesis keyboard and it was a fine machine. It could do so much in sounds and was even able to sync itself to other instruments and computers. Now the keyboard had great potential and it was mine, but it was up to me to exercise its use in my life. If I let the keyboard collect dust, it would not have done anything for me. Well, I’m happy to say that I basically paid my living expenses throughout my college years by playing that keyboard and other instruments like it. Life is all about “application.” When James says be a doer of the word, he is inviting you and I to exercise our faith no matter what the circumstance or situation may look like. God will not let you down if you act on His word, His way. I encourage you to take the faith that’s in you and begin to exercise it daily. Believe for a close parking lot when you go to the mall. Then, believe for the “best salary” in your industry or profession. God, forbid you feel sick, believe for immediate healing by acting out that healing in faith. Say what you want and act like you have it and you will soon discover that it will come to you. I encourage you to go through your notebooks from church and begin to take all that rich revelation and apply it to your everyday life. You will soon discover that not only does faith come, but faith also produces!
I look forward to meeting all my partners at our Faith Conference this year. It is sure to be a great success. I will be giving you updates on our projects and target goals. God is doing so much through KCC, and we cannot stop our progress. There are so many people to touch and lives to be changed. Join me at this year’s Faith Conference. It is going to be a huge success!
With Love,
