Fervent in Prayer
The word fervent is defined as "passionate intensity" or in the Greek as "hot" or "heated". In Hebrew, it is translated as "burning" or "excited". It can be concluded that fervent is far from being cold or being indifferent. This is reminiscent of the scripture where Christ instructed those at the church of Laodicea in Revelation 3:15-16 to be either hot or cold - to avoid being lukewarm. It is highly important for believers to maintain their fervency in this Christian life including prayer. Listed below are a few points on how to obtain a fervent prayer life.
Foundationally - Receive salvation and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Implement a regimen. Schedule time to meet God "early". Prioritize Him. Stir yourself up by praying in the Holy Spirit.

Participate in discipleship to maintain a careful and pure life.
Listen to God during your prayer time and verify with a spiritually mature Christian that you heard accurately.
Meditate on the Word so that your desire in prayer is "only" God's will. Be relational with God and not religious. Relate to Him as Father. Change the way you think about prayer. It is "never" a waste of time.
