SEARCHING THE SCRIPTURES

Greetings Church Family & Partners,

It is my prayer that you are doing well and experiencing tremendous success and favor! In our last edition, I challenged you to facilitate an honest evaluation to determine which way you were going in your walk with God. I pray you have made the necessary adjustments and as a result have seen the grace and power of God at work in your life!

I know that there may be many of you who are facing challenges. You may be facing financial hardships, sickness or disease, or any other matter that has come to test your faith. Today, I am going to give you a vital element in overcoming any difficulty that you may be facing. Daniel is a great example of one who exemplified strong faith in the face of adversity.

Daniel 6:23 illustrates how a believer should come out of any trial. The Word tells us that “no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.” (Daniel 6:23) As believers, we are to come out of trials with no injury found on us! We are to come out victorious! This is good news!

scripture even though his faith was being tested, as well as had a regimen of prayer (Daniel 9:2-3).

A key component to faith is your ability to search the scriptures and not only searching the scripture but also hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Faith also comes by reading your Bible out loud. Joshua 1:8-9 instructs us to meditate on the Word day and night. Another key component to being strong in faith is knowing your God. Daniel 11:32 (ESV) tells us that “the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action.” We know our God because we search the scriptures. John 1:1 tells us that the Word is God!

As you navigate life circumstances, it is imperative that you utilize scriptures as a mechanism to overcome and triumph. I encourage you to complete the below exercise to help you begin to search the scripture. It is my prayer that as you search the scripture and find bible promises pertaining to whatever you may be facing that you will fall in love with The Word of God, your faith will be stronger than ever, and no injury will be found on you!

Daniel was strong because he searched and understood the

As you search the scripture it is vital that you understand that “the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul” (Psalm 19:7). Law is interpreted as final authority. This means that no matter what the doctor says the Word is law and perfect! Since the law of the Lord is perfect, we know it is not missing anything and every answer we need in life is the Word of God. As you search the scriptures you will experience revival and relationship.

Assignment: Find 5 scriptures pertaining to the area you desire to grow in faith in. I then encourage you to write a scriptural confession for each scripture you have found. Meditate on these scriptures and say the scripture and confession aloud.

With Love, Pastor Gabe

Abba Father!

Romans 8:15 (NLT)

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

For many years I did not relate to God as my Heavenly Father. I lived in a Christian home and was raised in church for all my youth and young adult life, but my perspective of God was inaccurate. I loved God and desired a relationship with Him but drawing close to Him seemed more like maneuvering through a maze. I soon learned a personal relationship with God as “Father” is not something that only Pastors and great Kingdom leaders can attain, but that God wants to know each of His children personally, and that includes you. He wants us to relate to Him as “Father” and enjoy a relationship with Him that is meaningful and close and based on fellowship, trust, and love. God is a personal God. Contrary to how you feel, He is not far away from you and is very much interested in every single detail of your life, big and small.

Prayer of Salvation

He is with you all the time and desires to talk with you about everything. God invites you to spend time with Him through prayer and reading His Word. This is the most important way to know Him as Abba. He wants you to know that you can talk to Him about anything at any time and not only when you are in a crisis and need help. He wants you to know that you can trust Him with your whole heart and be confident that He will never let you down, for it’s impossible to have a personal relationship with someone you do not trust. As you draw closer to God, He will reveal more of Himself to you and teach you more about who He is.

Ministry Highlights

This year’s marriage conference was truly amazing! Each night of the conference was filled with teachings to heal and enhance marriages as well as prepare singles for marriage. The last day of the conference was a FUN-filled day!

Attendees participated in married vs. singles activities, canvas painting, an art auction by Christiana Long, and a book signing for our Pastor’s latest book “Who Are We Really Fighting?”.

Who are we really fighting?

Married couples today face problems that can seem to be unsolvable at times. Instead of fighting one another, Christian married couples need to start battling the right enemy. Satan hates marriage and he particularly hates Christian marriages because a Christian married couple has the potential to significantly advance the Kingdom of God. Satan attacked the first marriage, and he is still attacking marriages today. His strategy, to divide and conquer, is the same now as it was then. This book includes practical tools for conflict resolution and is a direct counterattack against the kingdom of darkness' attack on marriage. In this book, Dr. Rogers identifies the true source of marital conflict and explores how a husband and wife can be aware of Satan's schemes. He exposes the evil spirits Satan uses to destroy marriages and provides strategies from the Word of God that will equip the husband and wife to be delivered from such spirits. Whether married or single preparing for marriage, reading this book will equip you to have a godly temperament and personality.

Fervent in Prayer

The word fervent is defined as "passionate intensity" or in the Greek as "hot" or "heated". In Hebrew, it is translated as "burning" or "excited". It can be concluded that fervent is far from being cold or being indifferent. This is reminiscent of the scripture where Christ instructed those at the church of Laodicea in Revelation 3:15-16 to be either hot or cold - to avoid being lukewarm. It is highly important for believers to maintain their fervency in this Christian life including prayer Listed below are a few points on how to obtain a fervent prayer life.

Foundationally - Receive salvation and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Implement a regimen. Schedule time to meet God "early". Prioritize Him. Stir yourself up by praying in the Holy Spirit. Participate in discipleship to maintain a careful and pure life. Listen to God during your prayer time and verify with a spiritually mature Christian that you heard accurately. Meditate on the Word so that your desire in prayer is "only" God's will. Be relational with God and not religious. Relate to Him as Father. Change the way you think about prayer. It is "never" a waste of time.
