Dance has always been a passion for Justice. She has trained since the age of 3 at Holzchurer Dance Arts Center in Zanesville. Studying genres such as classical ballet, jazz, pointe, hip hop, and tap, she has found a love for not only performance but dance education and choreography as well. She attends dance workshops each year taught by world renowned instructors and this March had a one on one session with hip hop guru Hannah Wintrode. Justice recently completed her junior year at Zanesville High School where she is an honor roll student and varsity cheerleader. One of her most treasured memories is cheering on the Blue Devils and her brother Dar all the way to the state football Final Four 2 years ago. Justice is employed at Champion Gymnastics & Cheer and True North Fitness. She instructs gymnastics and tumbling classes as well as competition cheer. Future plans include attending a large university to pursue a degree in Communications or Arts Administration and of course incorporating dance into every situation she can. Justice looks at Miss Ohio week as a very special occasion and is excited to reunite with all of the MOSP family. Her dance mentor, the late Marjorie Holzchurer-Sellers instilled this in her students, “As the twig is bent, so grows the tree…” Following that philosophy Justice believes that dance is shaping the young woman she is becoming.
Madeline has been singing, dancing, and acting ever since she can remember. She has been studying dance at Opus II Dance Studio for 13 years and has completed her fifth year with the Ashland Regional Ballet. She is 18 years old and a recent graduate of St. Peter’s High School, where she received First Honors, held various leadership positions, and performed in the church choir. In addition to dance and school activities, Madeline enjoys singing and acting. Her most recent roles include Miss Hannigan (Annie), Clara Stahlbaum (The Nutcracker), Maria Rainer (The Sound of Music) , and Laurey Williams (Oklahoma!). Last summer, she attended a Musical Theatre intensive at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Madeline will be attending Baldwin Wallace University in the fall with a double major in Theatre and Dance and Broadcast Media/Mass Communications. She is looking forward to continuing to do what she loves in college and beyond. She hopes to perform on Broadway someday!
Lauren has been involved with the Miss Ohio Program for 5 years. She served as a Junior Assistant for 2 years before being given the opportunity to dance on the Miss Ohio stage, which she has enjoyed for the last 3 years. Lauren began ballet at the age of 8 studying at the Richland Academy, and has been in love with dancing ever since! She is an Honors Student and serves on Student Council at Ontario High School in addition to attending dance classes for 15 hours each week studying ballet, tap, jazz, modern and hip hop. Her passion for dance has taken her across the country with opportunities to dance in summer programs with the American Ballet Theater and The Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. Lauren aspires to continue dancing in college and to eventually have a career involving dance and performing arts.
Alyssah is a 16 year old junior at Tri-Valley High School in Dresden, Ohio, where she is an honor roll student. Alyssah has been dancing since the age of 3, studying ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz, acro and hip hop. At the age of 12 she became an assistant instructor. She is a member of the Center Stage Dance Arts competition team from Zanesville. Alyssah will compete at the World’s Dance Championships this August in New York City where only the “best of the best” will be competing. As a lyrical and jazz soloist, she has earned many platinum level and first place awards at dance competitions. Alyssah is thrilled to return to the Miss Ohio stage as a featured dancer and says she absolutely cannot help but smile when she is on stage.
Daylin is 18 years old and a dancer at Richland Academy in the company “rade.” She has been dancing since the age of three and has been a devoted company member for over 5 years. She has been to dance programs like adrenaline, all Ohio dance festival, and Misty Copeland master classes. Daylin will be graduating from Lexington High School with high honors and received a dance scholarship this year. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA and is a proud member of National Honor Society. She will be attending Brigham Young University in the fall on full academic scholarship majoring in dance and minoring in psychology. While she was accepted into both the ballet and contemporary dance major programs, she will have to choose a specialty! Daylin is excited to be a part of the Miss Ohio shows this year!
Sabrina Lindhout is a recent honors graduate from Ontario High School after spending her four years as a member of National Honor Society and student council.
