Robbie Toop - Give thanks that Robbie and Margaret were able to have time off on annual leave in June/July. This was a time of refreshment before the busy summer of exhibiting.

Give thanks for the ecouraging number who attended the Mission Plus lunchtime event at Keswick. Pray for fruitful follow-up with those who have expressed an interest in knowing more about partnering with MA.

GENERAL

Give thanks for the opportunity Robbie has to share about the work of MA.

Catherine Pope will be leaving the MA office this week and will be starting her PHD at the beginning of October. Give thanks for Catherine’s time at MA and for the many gifts she used to serve Him here. Pray for her as she moves on.

Pray for the Board of Mission Africa, that as they look to the future of the mission, God would be in the center of all their plans. Pray for wisdom in all the decisions that they need to make.

Pray for Elaine Campbell as she takes over the responsibility for MA’s Short Term programme. Also pray for God to move as the team represent MA at various churches and events this month.

‘Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.’

ANNOUNCEMENTS & EVENTS

MA’s Prayer Morning will take place on Saturday 8th November in Newtownbreda Baptist Church.

More details will be included in the next Prayer Monthly, but we would love you to save the date and plan to join us to pray.

Most of the volunteers from Come See Go Tell 2025 have returned to the UK and are sharing how they have seen the Lord at work. Plans will begin soon for Come See Go Tell 2026.

Our monthly Zoom meeting takes place on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7pm. You would be most welcome to join us.

Take time to remember the Lord’s command and ask Him to send people to reach the unreached.

“Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.“

Morrison Family - Give thanks for the Morrisons safe return to Chad. Pray for clear leading as to how Lucy should focus her time in Acacia, and for wisdom for both David and Lucy in balancing time between ministry and family.

Olivia starts school today, with Sophie starting back for her third year. Please pray they would know God’s reassuring presence with them, and that God would provide nurturing and understanding teachers for them both.

Continue to pray for a lifting of the ban on Visas for US Citizens in Chad.

Reuben BeattieReuben returned home safely last week after spending 3 months in Kenya. Pray for him as he reflects on his time away and give thanks for the people’s lives who were touched through his ministry.

NIGERIA

Ibia Family - At the end of July, Samantha and her family moved to Jos. Pray for them as it is a big adjustment from life in Enugu. Pray that they will begin to settle into a new routine soon.

A team of 5 qualified midwives arrived in Kenya at the end of August. They will be spending time in Chogoria Hospital and Karai children’s home until 13th of this month. Pray for them as they work and share their faith with others.

Give thanks for all of the teams and individuals who served in Kenya and Nigeria this summer. Pray for them as they adjust to life back home again, that this summer won’t have just been a ‘trip’ but transformation!

Pray that Hepzibah and Melki will soon settle well into their new school, that they would adjust quickly to a new way of learning and begin to make new friends!

Pray for Godfrey and Samantha, that they would be able to adjust to a different pace of workmore office based rather than field work. Pray especially for Godfrey as he learns his new role and job responsibilities.

Ekanem Family - Praise God for all the events of the summer; hosting the MA team to Uyo, National Ministers’ Wives Seminar, medical outreach to Ikot Ekpang and Summer School for Angel at her new secondary school.

Pray for Gail as she resumes at William Wheatley Theological College. Pray for Angel as she begins at the Nigerian Christian Institute. This will be a very different experience; pray for grace to handle the many differences.

Pray for Godwin and his involvement in the Steering Committee for the establishment of a new Bible College in Uyo and all that is needed to make a start as soon as possible.

KENYA

Mark Nixon - Pray for an upcoming orphanage that Mark will be visiting in early September called HOME. Pray that this visit will be fruitful and Mark will be able to share the love of Jesus with the children and staff.

Pray for the upcoming campaign in a village about an hour away from Ankpa. Many in that village are confused about what the Gospel is. Pray for wisdom for Mark, that he would communicate the gospel message clearly.

Pray for Mark, the staff and the students as they return after the summer break to a new semester. Pray that Mark’s teaching will be effective and that lives will be changed.

Janet Martin - Give thanks that Janet arrived safely at Holley Memorial Hospital in Nigeria. She has been warmly welcomed by the staff and has met some old friends from her time there in the late 70’s, early 80’s.

Ask the Lord to grant Janet wisdom as she continues to meet people across the various aspects of the hosptial, school, college of nursing and local church. Pray that she will be able to encourage and point people to Christ.

Pray that Janet will build relationships quickly and have discernment in what ministries to focus on during her limited time.

Gaiya Family - The Gaiya family are thankful for the time to reconnect with family and friends at home during the summer. Pray for Gracie, who enjoyed a camp and has now started back to school, Grade 10 (Year 12).

IVORY COAST

Ana van Brakel - Give thanks that Ana has been able to travel to England for her holidays. Pray that this time at home will be a period of rest and and catch-up with friends and family.

Pray for Musa as he continues supervising post graduate students at the University of Jos; pray for good health and strength. Pray for God’s wisdom in relation to church responsibilities.

Thank you for praying today for Africa Christian Textbooks. Pray that every member of staff will know God’s faithfulness and goodness. Pray as Pamela continues to learn more about the inventory management software at ACTS.

Ana hopes to use this time to prepare for the lessons for the new semester which begins on 29th. Pray for wisdom and creativity in this planning. Ana travels back on 25th, pray for safety in all her travels.

Continue to pray in the run-up to the elections which are planned for October. Pray for safety, minimal protests and a peaceful election campaign.
