Firstly, thank you for taking the time to consider serving with Mission Africa. We believe Short-Term Mission teams can play a crucial role in transforming the lives of each volunteer, shaping them towards Christ-likeness, so that they would strive to share thegospelineverynation(whetherthatisathomeorinAfrica).
What is Come See Go Tell?
Come See Go Tell is our discipleship programme, of which our short term teams are a part of! We have monthly sessions in which we will study the book of Romans, learning from Paul’s letter to the church in Rome,exploringthebiblicalbasisformissionanddiscussingtopicssuch as:
Whatisthegoalofmission? Whydocultureandworldviewmatterformission? Howdoweuseourgiftsandabilitiestopartnerwellinmission?
The hope and prayer behind the programme is that every person who serves with Mission Africa is transformed by coming and seeing what God is doing in Africa, so they can go and tell others of all they have learnt,whereverGodcallsthemtonext!
OUR COMMITMENT
In1887,MissionAfrica’sfounderSamuelBill,obeyedGod’scallon his life to serve in Nigeria. Samuel shared the gospel with those that had never heard the good news about Jesus, and grew in friendshipalongsidehisbrothersandsistersinChrist.Notonlydid God use Samuel to carry out the Great Commission, but God transformedhislife.
MissionAfricahavecontinuedtosendmissionariestoAfrica,now alsoworkinginChad,Kenya,BurkinaFasoandtheIvoryCoast.We are committed to seeing people hear and understand the good news of Jesus Christ and want to encourage, support and equip volunteerstogo-whetherthatisshortorlongterm!

You make the commitment to participate in our ‘Come See Go Tell’ programme,whichincludesmeetingoneeveningamonthbefore,and after going on team. You are also required to attend our full day orientationandconference.

ISKENYAASAFECOUNTRY?
It is true that there are areas of Kenya that are unsafe, however Kikuyu Region (Kenya) is labelled as a safe area to travel to by the FDCO For more information, look up Kenya on the FCDO website! All the teams will stay at safe and secure accommodation, and will be transportedwithincountryusingtrusteddrivers.
WHATVACCINESWOULDINEED?
MissionAfricacannotadvisespecificallyastowhatvaccinationsare required, we ask that you speak to your local travel clinic or GP. Howeveritismandatorythatyoutakeacourseofantimalarials.
Vaccinations are an additional cost, which is something to consider whenapplying.
WHATEXPERIENCEDOINEED?
If you have had any experience, either serving in Africa or serving in Children’sorYouthministryathomethatisbrilliant!However,wewill have training sessions before you serve, so if you are passionate about sharing the Gospel and growing in your gifts and abilities we wouldencourageyoutosignup!
ISTHEREALANGUAGEBARRIER?
WhilsttherearemanydifferentlanguagesspokeninKenya,Englishis widely understood, and translators may only be needed when workingwithveryyoungchildren.

Our teams are for those aged 18+ at the time of travel We have no upperagelimitandwelcomevolunteersfromallagesandstagesof life!
