It is an honor to serve as Mirman’s sixth Head of School and to take the helm at such an important and unique time in the school’s history. It is a privilege to build on Dr. Norman and Mrs. Beverly Mirman’s visionary ideals and values, and I am grateful to Dan Vorenberg for leaving the school in such a healthy and robust position.
I was first drawn to Mirman for its incredible mission, not only its focus on nurturing the boundless potential of highly gifted students but also its focus on developing the intellectual capacity to promote creativity, innovation, social responsibility, and belonging. It is here that the foundation is laid to explore ideas, passions, and talents that will change the world and make it a better place. Beyond just words on a page, I saw the mission in action in our inquisitive, creative, and inspirational students, who challenge us to look at things in a different way, consider alternative points of view, and design a better future for all. This kind of approach would not be possible without the dedication, passion, and talent of our phenomenal faculty, who show an immense commitment to our population and delight in being a part of the lives of highly gifted children.
It was such a joy to witness the opening of the school year — my inaugural one — hearing and seeing our students animate our beautiful campus and innovative learning spaces.
Our campus and programming grew tremendously in the 2023-2024 school year, increasing our ability to support our learning community. With the recent expansion of both the campus and teaching faculty, our newest building — the Guerin Family Learning Center
and Derfner-Lieberman Family Arts Pavilion — and its surrounding spaces came online in 2023-2024. This addition has helped us reach the largest enrollment in the school’s history, enabling us to provide more opportunity and access to students who need a Mirman education, particularly given the demand reflected in our waitlists at every grade level. Mirman and its students are thriving thanks to the generosity and partnership of our community, which continues to help our students reach their amazing potential and ensures that their individual and our collective futures remain bright.
I am grateful for all that you have done personally to get us where we are today. Through your support — in all its forms — we have built new and innovative spaces, expanded unique programming, and provided
a deep and complex education that meets the needs of our extraordinary students. Our school is positioned to deepen its influence as a thought leader in gifted education and to serve as a model for what it means to honor childhood and nurture the intellectual, emotional, and kinesthetic gifts of each student. I look forward to the remainder of the school year, a year of change, of challenge, of creation, and of joy — joy in what our school is at this moment in time, and hope in what our school will become.

The Annual Giving Campaign plays a crucial role in the life of our school, funding nearly 10% of our annual operating budget. Collectively, these contributions are critical, touching every aspect of campus life and deeply influencing our students’ learning experiences.
