Pezhman was born in 1976 in Shiraz, Iran, and emigrated to the United States at age three. An adventurous spirit, Pezhman thrives outdoors, engaging in activities like trekking, kayaking, mountain climbing, and fishing. Initially a photographer, he captured the contrast between natural and urban landscapes, which inspired his evolution into mixed media.
Pezhman’s passion for photography began with a road trip at 17. Immersed in the craft, he converted his bathroom into a darkroom, enrolled in photography programs, and worked as an assistant in a prominent studio. The advent of digital photography led him to mixed media, seeking deeper creative involvement.
As a mixed media artist, Pezhman explores textures and colors to convey vivid sensations. His process involves photography, oil, acrylic, textiles, resin, encaustic, tar, and other materials to create dynamic textures. Inspired by a spirit of exploration, Pezhman captures timeless moments in his works. Pezhman continues his artistic journey in Atlanta, Georgia, with his work displayed and collected across the United States.

ARTIST STATEMENT
“My experimentation in mixed media has progressed, pioneering a more textural approach to my works. Through my series, Phoria, I establish a dialogue between two different realities, telling a story about the life around us and the hidden depths beneath the surface. By deconstructing and transferring my photography into dimensional overlays and building layer upon layer of encaustic, I invite a sculptural element into the series. This dynamic combination of painting and dimensional layering engages viewers from all angles, encouraging them to explore the intricate textures and narratives within each piece.”

“I believe there is a bit of magic in the medium of photography that is made up of light, chemistry, natural beauty and the ability to capture a perfect moment on film.”
