SOPHIE AT BAYOU BEND The Sophie at Bayou Bend is an exclusive private city estate overlooking Bayou Bend Gardens, minutes away from downtown Houston. The concept for Sophie began by looking at art, architecture, and fashion icons throughout history that have come to represent a “classic contemporary” style that is timeless. Icons like the Chanel little black dress and classic New York apartment houses such as those of Rosario Candela gave way to the inspiration behind the architecture, interiors, and landscape architecture of The Sophie. The vision for this building was to create a timeless piece of architecture that respects the site and becomes an iconic symbol of the present, past, and future.

BELL HEIGHTS LOFTS Bell Heights Lofts is an adaptive re-use multi-family project, converting an abandoned Southwestern Bell switchgear building from the 1950s into loft-style condominiums. The beige and cast stone brick building was transformed into a New Orleans style condominium, with the use of antique brick, painted original brick, stone details, shutters, planter boxes and added balconies with ornate railings and canopies. The interior of the building was gutted down to its concrete structure, which is now a prominent element of interior design of each unit. THE BEVERLY

ARCHITECTURE THE HEATHER

PACIFIC LOFTS

The Beverly is an exclusive community with 6 full floor units with 360-views of the surrounding area. The building is design in an art deco style, as a jewel-box, telling the story of big things in small boxes. The detailing of the brick and railings elude to the faceted nature of diamonds, and the black contrasting volumes acts as the ribbon on this design.

The Heather is a LIHTC family community designed to provide high-quality, affordable housing within a residential Houston neighborhood. The project is organized into three-story walk-up buildings that frame a central parking court and shared outdoor spaces, creating clear visibility, safety, and a strong sense of community. Contemporary farmhouse-inspired architecture combines durable stone, vertical siding, and articulated rooflines to establish a warm, residential scale. A centrally located clubhouse anchors the site with leasing, community amenities, and a pool, while landscaped courtyards and detention areas integrate open space and stormwater strategy.

Pacific Lofts mixed-use is on the site of the original Conroe Hotel, which was later replaced by the Homestead House Furniture Store. The new structure carefully preserves the original brick base, seamlessly integrating it into the design while adding two additional stories featuring a modern, contrasting facade and materials. Notable features of this design include the creation of new arches on the brick facade, establishing storefronts at ground level, and introducing loft-style residences on the upper levels surrounding an internal courtyard.

R C H I T E C T U R TOWER E A&MAINNOVATION

CAROLINE FLATS

Mandell Montrose is a condo in Houston, named for the 1920s streetcar line that traveled between the neighborhood and downtown. The facade of the building is brick to blend with the historic neighborhood, and Inside, luxe finishes are ultra-contemporary, taking elements from European design. There are design elements such as an “open-enclosed kitchen” concept, in which sleek paneling covers everything but the range, Italian cabinetry and smooth lines throughout keep for a clean look.

The design of A&M Innovation Towers is one that incorporates and embodies the values and tradition of Texas A&M University. There are twelve levels of the building and twelve columns at the base, celebrating the spirit of the 12th Man. The twelve arches detailed around the base of the building are an acknowledgment of both the twelve Corps Arches at the Quad and twelve Bonfire Memorial portals on campus. Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect, and Selfless Service - are represented by the six columns along the East representing the school’s history and tradition, and the six columns along the West, looking towards the future, twelve in total.
