Personalized sugar cookies, adorned with bride and groom motifs, served as charming table favors, while the cupcakes, bursting with carrot cream cheese and oreo fudge flavors, were adorned with Swiss meringue buttercream florals for a playful touch.

Each dessert was meticulously designed with attention to every detail, making for a truly memorable culinary experience at the wedding.

Once upon a time, in the quaint halls of Minot State University, fate had a plan brewing for Lauren & Lyndon. Their love story wasn’t a whirlwind romance; it was a slow burn, simmering over years of friendship until it ignited into something more. Then came the plot twist of all plot twists: the pandemic. But did that stop them? Oh no, it just added a dramatic twist to their tale as they conquered long-distance love like champs.

Fast forward to Lauren’s graduation from grad school, and cue the relocation to Grande Prairie, Alberta, where she and Lyndon built a cozy nest of love and happiness for two whole years. But wait, there’s more! Lyndon had a surprise up his sleeve, or rather, in the bushes of Jasper’s Pyramid Lake. On a tranquil evening stroll, the shimmering lake, Lyndon drops to one knee with a ring, and a sneaky photographer emerges from the foliage to capture the magic.

The rest of the story? Pure wedding bliss. With a year of meticulous planning and a relocation back to Saskatoon, August 12th became the date of their dreams. Their ceremony unfolded amidst the natural beauty of Wanuskewin Heritage Park, a setting as timeless as their love.But the celebrations didn’t stop there. Oh no, they kept the party going at the Holy Family Cathedral Hall, where laughter, love, and maybe a few dance moves filled the air. And let’s not forget the unsung heroes of their perfect day: the vendors who made it all possible. With their expertise and flair, they turned dreams into reality, creating a picture-perfect wedding that will be cherished forever.

In the end, it wasn’t just a wedding day—it was a love-filled extravaganza, a culmination of years of laughter, tears, and everything in between. Here’s to Lauren & Lyndon, and to many more chapters of their love story yet to unfold!

Who knew a simple friend request could lead to such a beautiful journey?

It all began during the lockdown when the world seemed to hit the pause button, and we hit the friend request button. Little did we know that clicking ‘accept’ would open the door to endless chats, laughter, and bonding over hunting and fishing. Our conversations flowed effortlessly, as if we’d been friends for ages, even though we were miles apart.

Finally, the day came when we could meet in person. With cautious optimism, we decided to go for a walk, keeping a safe distance. But as soon as I laid eyes on him, I knew. Call it intuition or fate, but I just knew he was the one. And then, in a moment straight out of a romance novel, he handed me a rose before we parted ways.

As the months passed and the pandemic loomed over us like a dark cloud, we found ourselves facing uncertainty about the future. But amidst the chaos, we made a decisionto live life in reverse. And so, nine months later, our daughter entered the world, bringing with her the promise of a future filled with love and laughter.

But wait, there’s more! A spontaneous trip to Banff, Alberta, three months pregnant. As we soaked in the beauty of the mountains, little did I suspect what was about to unfold. The signs were there - the collared shirt, the romantic setting with roses and candles. And then, there it was, a ring nestled among rose petals, with a heart-shaped glow. Of course, I said yes without hesitation!

Drawing inspiration from nature’s palette, the team embraced a spectrum of hues to infuse the shoot with vibrancy and depth. Falu Red, Golden Brown, Pastel Blue, and Army Green danced harmoniously, lending an air of enchantment to every frame.

Once upon a time in the digital realm of 2018, Sara and Amir swiped right on Tinder would set the stage for a love story beyond their wildest dreams. Long-distance became their companion in their first year when Amir pursued studies in the US. Taking the plunge, they decided to move in together, solidifying their commitment and weaving their lives even closer. And then came the momentous proposal, etching a new chapter in their shared journey. Amir chose a crisp fall day in 2021 to pop the question, and Sara, with a heart full of love, joyously said yes.

In celebration of their extraordinary love, they embarked on a soul-stirring trip to the Dominican Republic. Surrounded by the captivating allure of the destination, their bond deepened, and amidst the serene backdrop, they knew – this was the place where they wanted to declare their eternal love.

While some may see rain as an inconvenience, we couldn’t help but marvel at how it lent an enchanting charm to the proceedings. One of the highlights of the evening was the intimate gathering in the historic library room at Victoria’s Empress Hotel, where friends and family came together to celebrate amidst the opulent surroundings. A Chic Caribbean Wedding Dream styled shoot was created with the passion to the destination weddings in the Caribbean. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Punta Cana’s pristine beaches and lush palm trees, this styled shoot captures the essence of a chic Caribbean wedding with a touch of modern elegance. The azure sky, crystal-clear waters, and golden sands create a dreamy canvas for this romantic affair.

We incorporated lots of rich and bright colours, which is a trend for 2024. More and more couples tend to gravitate towards more colourful wedding designs nowadays and we wanted to give them some more inspiration and to show what is possible to do with the colours.

We also wanted to showcase different styles of attire that brides could wear on their wedding day, besides a wedding dress. The bride wears stunning, contemporary gowns with intricate details and a flowing silhouette, perfectly capturing the blend of sophistication and island charm. One of the attire is pants and an oversizes shirt in a light material or an oversized shirt worn as a cocktail dress for the dancing portion of the night. These two attire options were custom designed by the Canadian designer Matthew Davignon.

Lush, vibrant floral arrangements feature prominently in the decor, with bouquets and centerpieces incorporating local blooms. We showcased two designs for the table settings, one more classy and the second one is more playful and airy with some fresh fruits and happy yellow elements.

Capturing the essence of romance and luxury against the backdrop of Punta Cana’s natural beauty, this chic Caribbean wedding styled shoot is a testament to the allure of destination weddings in the heart of paradise.

Country Acres Weddings & Events is a seasonal wedding venue established in 2016 and is located on a farm near McLean SK. It offers down-home hospitality, exceptional customer service, and a wide variety of unique amenities and options, making every wedding a stress-free, fun and memorable experience for brides, grooms, their families and friends. The nostalgic charm of the big yellow farm house, the big red hip-roof barn, rustic log cabin, country flower gardens, and antiques, as well as nature’s prairie landscape, contribute to the breathtaking backdrop for a beautiful country wedding.

Country Acres began with a couple of neighbours enjoying a cup of coffee and a conversation in the farm house dining room on owner Maxine Hanofski’s fifth-generation family farm. As Max gazed out the bay window over-looking the lawn and yard, backed by a forest and nature’s beauty, she commented to her neighbour, a wedding photographer, “Wouldn’t that be a nice place to have a wedding ceremony?” Her friend agreed. Less than two weeks later, this same neighbour contacted Max with a request for a client looking for a country location for her wedding ceremony. Maxine loved assisting with that very first wedding, so it was an easy decision for her to create, nurture and grow one of the leading wedding venues in the province.

In 2014 Max moved into the then new farmhouse that she had designed, with an exterior reminiscent of farm houses from days gone by, and an interior with every modern amenity, including an elevator. The home was designed with her husband Brian in mind, to accommodate his disabilities as a result of a car crash years earlier. Sadly, Brian never had the opportunity to live in the new house, as he passed away when it was under construction, but today it is the perfect house to accommodate Brides, Grooms and wedding parties.

Max is thrilled to be able to share her farm with others for weddings, antique vintage country markets, barn dances, blue-grass jamborees, and visits to the Pioneer Museum and the Farmer’s Daughter Country Store. Pam Armbruster, Wedding Planner and Event Manager, is always happy to assist couples with wedding planning and seamless wedding weekends. A dedicated staff complete the team, often staffing wedding days for up to 19 hours.

With all wedding amenities available right on the farm, including outdoor ceremony sites, cocktail hour in the barn, event tent, accommodations and camping, it makes Country Acres a one-stop location for an unforgettable wedding weekend . . . and not just a wedding day.

The 6000 sq. ft. event centre includes a large reception area, stage, dance floor, saloon bar,

caterer’s area, prep/storage kitchen, and modern washrooms, including showers. Tables, chairs, podium, rustic back drops, thousands of decor items, dinnerware, lawn games, 1928 Model A Ford, horse and princess carriage or hay wagon rides are all available right on the premises.

Country Acres is wheel-chair accessible and provides chauffeured golf carts to assist those with mobility issues. Extra perks include a liquor licence for the 20-acre farmyard, event insurance, and allowances for fireworks, bonfires, and sparklers.
