AIR FORCE MAJ. GEN. STACY JO HUSER TO HEADLINE 2026 MACEDC ANNUAL MEETING The Minot Area Chamber EDC is pleased to announce that Maj. Gen. Stacy Jo Huser, Commander of the 20th Air Force, Air Force Global Strike Command, will serve as the keynote speaker for our 2026 Annual Meeting on Monday, March 23 at the Regency Event Center.

In her position, Maj. Gen. Huser leads more than 12,000 Airmen responsible for nuclear global strike and weapons sustainment for the U.S. Air Force. She is the first-ever woman to command the historic 20th Air Force, which oversees the nation’s land‑based intercontinental ballistic missile mission. Earlier in her career, she served as Commander of the 91st Operations Group at Minot Air Force Base from August of 2015 until June of 2017.

“We are incredibly honored to welcome Maj. Gen. Huser as the keynote speaker at our upcoming Annual Meeting,” said MACEDC President | CEO Brekka Kramer. “Her leadership as Commander of Maj. Gen. Stacy Jo Huser the 20th Air Force – and as the first woman to hold that role – is truly inspiring. We are eager to hear her story, and reflections of how the mission of Minot Air Force Base intersects with every aspect of business and community life in the Minot area.”

Several Task Force 21 members who serve as Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) Civic Leaders attended the 2026 Barksdale Senior Leader Conference (SLC) on February 10 and 11 in Louisiana. The conference marked Gen. S.L. Davis’s first SLC since taking command of AFGSC in November 2025.

Held twice a year, the Senior Leader Conference brings together Air Force leadership and Civic Leaders from communities across the country for indepth briefings, strategic discussions, and installation updates. The AFGSC Civic Leader Program is designed to strengthen public understanding of the nuclear deterrence and global strike mission, while maintaining an open line of

This year’s conference included updates from the 20th Air Force and 8th Air Force, community briefings from each wing, and on-site tours. A major focus was nuclear modernization, including the Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile program that is poised to significantly impact Minot Air Force Base in the years ahead.

“Being part of these conversations allows us to better understand what’s on the horizon and how Minot can continue to show up as a strong partner,” said Brekka Kramer, President | CEO of the Minot Area Chamber EDC. “The modernization mission, including Sentinel, represents both responsibility and opportunity for our community. Staying engaged at this level helps ensure we’re ready.”

HONORING SERVICE AND WELCOMING NEW LEADERSHIP TO AFGSC CIVIC LEADER PROGRAM This year also marked an important transition in Minot’s representation within the AFGSC Civic Leader Program.

After serving as an AFGSC Civic Leader since the command was established in 2009, North Dakota State Senator Randy Burckhard has transitioned to emeritus status. The program allows Civic Leaders to graduate to emeritus after five years of service — though Randy’s involvement has spanned the entire life of the command.

Burckhard, who has represented District 5 in the North Dakota Senate since 2011 and will conclude his legislative service at the end of this term, has long been a steady advocate for Minot Air Force Base and the military community. During his time at the State Capitol, he consistently championed policies supporting both national defense and local growth. Beyond his legislative role, Randy has remained deeply engaged in community and military affairs. He is a member of Task Force 21 and has served as Honorary Commander for the 91st Missile Wing.

“Randy has been a steady and respected voice for both Minot and Minot Air Force Base for many years,” said Minot Mayor Mark Jantzer. “His service as a Civic Leader helped ensure our community stayed informed and engaged during times of change. We’re grateful for his continued commitment.”

Stepping in as Burckhard’s successor is Jason Zimmerman, President of the Minot Area Community Foundation and Chair-Elect of the Minot Area Chamber EDC. Jason has long been active in Task Force 21 and began serving as vice chair in January of 2025. He is also a member of the newly formed TF21 Sentinel Working Group, helping guide community coordination tied to modernization efforts.

TASK FORCE 21, NATIONAL LEADERS DISCUSS NEW SENTINEL FUNDING AND MORE

From Minot to Washington, D.C., the mission of Minot Air Force Base remains a top priority — and in midFebruary, members of the Minot Area Chamber EDC’s Task Force 21 met with national leaders to discuss the future of that mission.

Senator John Hoeven, U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Colin Connor, and base leadership joined Task Force 21 to discuss newly secured federal funding supporting nuclear modernization efforts that will impact Minot, including: $2.6 billion allocated for development of the Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), building on a previously approved $2.5 billion investment supporting the program.

Nearly $800 million to continue advancing the Long Range Stand Off (LRSO) program. $67 million to help bring Minot’s fleet of 11 MH139 Grey Wolf helicopters online in 2027.

Completion of Minot Air Force Base’s new helicopter facility expected this year, backed by nearly $140 million in construction funding.

The conversation also highlighted the important role civic leaders like Task Force 21 play in advocating for Minot at the local, state, and federal levels. MACEDC is committed to supporting the mission at Minot Air Force Base and the Airmen and families who are part of our community.

MILITARY WEL A new Military Welcome Center designed to support active-duty service members, veterans, and their families is now open at Minot International Airport.

Operated by the Minot Area Chamber EDC, the facility provides a comfortable, dedicated space for military travelers before and after flights.

“The Military Welcome Center epitomizes the spirit that makes Minot such a special community,” Hoeven said. “This facility is a testament to how Minot comes together to support our armed forces and ensure service members feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.”

A dedication ceremony held on February 17 featured Senator John Hoeven presenting a U.S. flag flown over the Capitol on behalf of himself, Senator Kevin Cramer, and Representative Julie Fedorchak. Following the presentation, the Minot Area Chamber EDC Ambassadors officially cut the ribbon on the facility.

The Military Welcome Center began as an idea of Chief Master Sgt. Wayne T. Sharp, who saw an opportunity to make an enhanced first impression on military personnel new to Minot. “Onboarding new Airmen is so important,” Sharp said. “This center sends a clear message: our service members are

Minot’s economic momentum is earning national recognition: In Site Selection magazine’s 2025 economic development report, Minot ranked twice among the nation’s Top Tier 3 Metros (population 50,000–200,000), tying for #4 in total qualifying projects and ranking #2 nationally for projects per capita in its category.

“These rankings reflect the intentional, strategic work happening across the Minot region,” said Brekka Kramer, Minot Area Chamber EDC President | CEO. “This recognition belongs to our employers, our local leaders, our state partners, and the entire community that continues to lean in and move projects forward. Minot competes because we are aligned — investing in infrastructure, strengthening our logistics and industrial assets, and creating the kind of business climate where companies and families can build for the long term. We’re proud of this moment, and even more focused on what’s next.”

The rankings, published in Site Selection’s March 2026 issue, recognize communities that demonstrate exceptional success in attracting and expanding corporate facility projects, a key benchmark for economic vitality and competitiveness.

The Minot Area Chamber EDC continues to prioritize economic development, as outlined in its five-year strategic plan.

Minot’s strong performance also contributed to a broader statewide achievement. North Dakota claimed the top spot in Site Selection’s 2025 Governor’s Cup rankings for projects per capita, unseating South Dakota and earning national recognition for the most qualifying corporate facility projects per million residents.

Governor Kelly Armstrong emphasized that the accomplishment reflects long-term planning and infrastructure readiness across the state.

“This achievement is the product of steady, coordinated effort and a holistic approach to economic development,” Armstrong said in a news release. “Communities, lawmakers and industry partners have all played a role in positioning North Dakota for long-term success.

We’re proud of the momentum we’ve built, and we’re just getting started.”

In an interview with Site Selection, Armstrong highlighted the importance of engaged local leadership and strong partnerships — a formula that continues to power results in the Magic City.

“You have to have local buy-in. You have to have forward-thinking county commissioners, city commissioners, economic development councils,” Armstrong said. “You can’t bring somebody in if the community is not engaged in doing it.”

MACEDC TO HOST CANDIDATE FORUMS AHEAD OF JUNE ELECTION The Minot Area Chamber EDC invites you to participate in a series of candidate forums in anticipation of the June 9, 2026 city election.

WHEN: April 13 –16, 2026 | 4:00 p.m.

WHERE: Minot City Hall | City Council Chambers

We will conduct moderated candidate forums for contested citywide races, which may include: Mayor of Minot City Council School Board Park Board Live streams of each forum will be available to view on the City of Minot and Minot Area Chamber EDC social media pages, as well as the City of Minot’s YouTube channel. More information on candidate forums will be available soon.

LOCAL STUDENTS TO COMPETE IN NATIONAL CIVICS BEE® ON APRIL 10 The Minot Area Chamber EDC will host the 2026 National Civics Bee® local competition on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Minot State University’s Aleshire Theatre in Hartnett Hall.

The event is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students from area public, private, and homeschool programs who submitted essays earlier this year. The top 20 of those students will compete live on stage in April.

Students will answer quiz questions during the first two rounds of competition. In the final round, the top five students will present a summary of their essay and participate in a Q&A with judges. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers, and the first-place student will advance to the state competition.

has served multiple terms on the Minot Public School Board, volunteered in local schools and with Junior Achievement, and serves as an exofficio member of the Minot Public School Foundation Board. Laura has also held leadership roles in community events such as The Great Tomato Festival and Norsk Høstfest.

Attendees will discover meaningful ways to get involved as local organizations share opportunities for volunteering, board service, and community participation, with representatives on site to discuss their missions and current needs. In addition, they’ll will hear from a panel of dedicated local women who are making a difference in the community:

Miranda Schuler, an elected community leader, business owner and mom who has worn many hats —often all at once. Her career has been shaped by saying "yes" before she felt ready and learning that failure is often just feedback in disguise. Miranda is passionate about public service, entrepreneurship, and encouraging women to believe in themselves, even when fear tries to take the microphone. She believes confidence is built through action, balance is seasonal, and most things are conquerable with grace and a little sense of humor.

Allison Auch, Executive Director of Full STEAM Ahead, a high-energy youth nonprofit focused on theatre, robotics and all things STEAM. In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Alison serves as a nurse practitioner at Trinity Health and with NW Wound Specialists. Her work reflects a deep commitment to both youth development and community health.

Chelsea Gleich, a professional communicator, mom, and enthusiastic community supporter.

She has over 15 years of experience in communications and marketing in a variety of industries and currently works as the Business Admin & Internal Communications Director at Town & Country Credit Union. Her volunteer experience includes fundraising for North Dakota’s largest work of public art, kickstarting the development of street art in downtown Minot, and rappelling down the Parker Center building (twice!) despite a fear of heights, in addition to board service and some more typical volunteer gigs.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Kyara Brown, a Salt Lake City native who has proudly called North Dakota home for nearly nine years.

A graduate of Minot State University, she briefly played soccer there after captaining her Olympic Development team in Utah. For four years, she has served as a news anchor and reporter at KX News. Kyara mentors young women through scholarship boards and loves cooking, relaxing at Lake Metigoshe, and FaceTiming her mom in Salt Lake City. Her favorite role is hosting the North Dakota State Parade. She is passionate about storytelling and community connection statewide.

NORTH DAKOTA STATE FAIR EXAMINES AG FOCUS Our Agribusiness Committee members heard from North Dakota State Fair Competitive Exhibits Director Shelby Hennessey on the agricultural roots of the fair beginning in 1966 — and the modern, multifaceted event it is today, maintaining a strong focus on livestock, youth programs, and agricultural education. Shelby shared that ongoing facility upgrades now support more than 75 shows across nine species, expanded exhibitor amenities, and increased participation from 4-H and FFA, including combined livestock competitions. An increase in goat and dairy entries highlight changing economics and renewed youth engagement, reinforcing the fair’s role in sustaining agriculture for future generations.

What are the barriers to affordable housing construction? Mike Hayes, a retired construction contractor and current Minot City Council member, updated the Infrastructure Committee on ongoing residential projects in Minot. He emphasized that rising land costs, financing hurdles, and regulatory pressures are making affordable housing increasingly difficult to deliver – but said that property tax relief, low‑interest financing, targeted infrastructure support, and expanded workforce development programs can help sustain the region’s builders and skilled trades.

DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL FUNDING ROUND FOR DESTINATION DEVELOPMENT GRANTS The North Dakota Department of Commerce will open an additional funding round for the Destination Development Grant (DDG) program, making $4 million available to advance tourism projects statewide. The funds were originally allocated to ND Country Fest for expanding and enhancing the New Salem venue; however, the applicant has chosen not to move forward with the project. The application portal will close at 5 p.m. CST March 10. Applications must be submitted online; email or mail submissions will not be accepted.

The program supports development or expansion of attractions that strengthen North Dakota’s economy, and enhance quality of life for residents. Eligible applicants include for-profit businesses, nonprofit organizations and tourism-related entities. State and federal government entities and previous DDG recipients from the 202325 or 2025-27 rounds are not eligible. Previous non-awarded applicants are invited to reapply using a streamlined application redesigned to make it easier for the applicant and the evaluation committee.

Matching requirements: 1-to-1 match required (cash or in-kind contributions) Cash match reimbursement: 50% of approved invoices after verification under the grant agreement In-kind contributions may include: Documented value of donated land or facilities Materials and equipment Eligible in-house labor (excluding administrative or programmatic costs) Competitive proposals will demonstrate how the project will attract new visitors to North Dakota with new experiences, alignment with North Dakota’s identity, realistic timelines for completion within the 2025-27 biennium and long-term community impact. Awards will be announced April 30.

She talked about her passion for portraiture, the importance of telling people’s stories through images, and how tools like the Start Up Minot Academy course, photography retreats, and connecting with others in the industry have helped her sharpen both her craft and her business skills.

She also answered questions from the audience and offered encouragement for those looking to launch or expand their own ventures. We’d like to thank Kellie for spending the day’s early golden hour with us and are excited to see her upcoming shots!

RIBBON CUTTINGS BEATING HEARTS CPR 2021 4th Avenue Northwest • Minot The Ambassador Committee celebrated a new Minot business with a ribbon cutting. Nana Appiawiah is a nurse who opened Beating Hearts CPR to provide classes on basic life support, babysitting, adult and pediatric CPR, first aid and AED. Appiawiah says there are 350,000 cardiac arrests nationwide that happen away from a hospital and only 10 percent survive because so many people don’t know these life saving techniques.

NORTHERN BOTTLING COMPANY CELEBRATES 75 YEARS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE AND REFRESHMENT Northern Bottling Company proudly announces the celebration of its 75th anniversary in 2026, marking threequarters of a century of service, community commitment, and dedication to quality. Founded in 1951 under the stewardship of the Gokey family, Northern Bottling Company has evolved from a single-location bottling operation into a trusted beverage distributor serving central and western North Dakota.

Since its beginnings, the company has remained focused on delivering quality products while maintaining strong ties to the communities it serves. In 1951, the Gokey family acquired the Pepsi-Cola and Seven-Up franchises and relocated the bottling operation from 10 South Broadway to 1629 South Broadway in Minot. It was at this location that the company officially became known as Northern Bottling Company.

Growth followed steadily over the years. In 1961, Dr. Pepper was added to the Minot franchise. The Devils Lake Seven-Up franchise was acquired in 1962, followed by the Devils Lake Pepsi-Cola franchise in 1964. In 1972, the company expanded further with the addition of the Pepsi-Cola franchise in Hettinger.

Northern Bottling Company’s foundation is built on values of hard work, integrity, stewardship, and communityfocused service. These principles trace back to the family’s heritage and the influence of respected community leaders such as William Langer. They have been carried forward through generations by Frank Gokey, Langer Gokey, and Will Gokey. Today, those same values continue to guide the company. MINOT STATE EXCELS AT 2026 FBLA STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE Minot State University Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) participated in the 2026 FBLA Collegiate State Leadership Conference, Feb. 22-23 in Mandan. Six FBLA Collegiate chapters from North Dakota and South Dakota participated in this conference, connecting approximately 60 postsecondary students to test business skills against their peers from around the states. In addition to the competitive events program, students had the opportunity to attend workshops, vote for the 2026-27 state officer team, and network with members from around the state.

This year, members also had the opportunity to hear from North Dakota Gov. Kelly Armstrong, a panel of business professionals, and attend a tour of the Starion Sports Complex in Mandan. All Minot State members qualified for the National Leadership Conference, which will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 6-8.

FBLA is a professional organization for students interested in pursuing business careers. This year’s theme of “Make Your Mark” reflects the goals of FBLA members, some of the best and brightest of today’s young people. The mission of FBLA is to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.

JESSAMY FORNSHELL PROMOTED TO SRT CHIEF FINANCIAL AND OPERATING OFFICER SRT Communications has promoted Jessamy Fornshell to Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFOO). Fornshell served as SRT’s Chief Financial Officer since May 2025, leading the cooperative’s strategy for driving financial performance, ensuring operational efficiency, and providing guidance to propel growth.

“Beyond her advanced financial acumen, Jessamy has deep knowledge of operations for both local and global cooperative models,” said Cassidy Hjelmstad, SRT Chief Executive Officer and General Manager. “SRT is in a transformational moment as we provide critical telecommunications infrastructure across the communities we serve. Jessamy’s track record and commitment position her perfectly for leading SRT into the future in this dual role.”

Prior to joining SRT, Fornshell was CFO at United Quality Cooperative, where she was responsible for finance, accounting, inventory, human resources, and credit/collections. She also previously served ten years at CHS, Inc., both as Northland Region Accounting Manager overseeing business units across North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois, and as Controller for local Country Operations locations: CHS SunPrairie and Dakota Agronomy Partners. Fornshell earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Dakota and is a Certified Public Accountant. She lives in Minot with her family.

BURDICK JOB CORPS STUDENTS TRACKING TOWARDS SUCCESS: THE TWO "SERENITYS" TAKE ON KANSAS CITY Two of Burdick Job Corps’ brightest stars are currently making waves in the Midwest as they pave the way for a high-powered career in the transportation industry. Serenity Roller and Serenity Weyrauch, both former students of Burdick’s Building Construction Technology program, have successfully transitioned into the prestigious TCU (Transportation Communications Union) Advanced Training program in Kansas City.

For the past few months, "The Serenitys" have been immersed in specialized training to become railway signalmen. This intensive 6-to-9-month program isn’t just a classroom exercise; it’s a hands-on experience designed to mirror the real-world demands of the rail industry. Both students noted that the environment feels less like a school and more like a professional job site —an atmosphere they say is perfectly preparing them for the rigors of their future careers.

High Praise and High Stakes Their progress hasn’t gone unnoticed. Patrick Clear, a TCU Union Education Representative currently on leave from BNSF to mentor Job Corps students, has been struck by their dedication. "The motivation and focus these two demonstrate is outstanding," said Clear. He was particularly impressed to learn that the duo’s ambition caught the attention of North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer, who provided the students with a formal letter of support.

The stakes for their success are high. According to Clear, there are approximately 6,000 transportation careers opening every year. For Roller and Weyrauch, the challenge won't be finding a job—it will be choosing one. With successful signal maintainers earning between $37 and $47 per hour, the world is truly their moving target.

Expanding Horizons While these two are focused on the tracks, Paul Dickinson, the Regional Coordinator for TCU Advanced Training, emphasizes that the opportunities don't stop at the rail yard. The partnership between TCU and Job Corps prepares students for a massive variety of roles, including customer service careers with Amtrak, major airlines, and even the cruise industry.

Gratitude and "Gains" Despite the distance from home, both Serenitys are adapting well and enjoying the journey. They were quick to credit their foundation at Burdick to their Building Construction Technology teacher, Mike Frank, thanking him for the hands-on preparation that gave them the confidence to step into advanced training.

As they look toward graduation, Serenity Roller and Serenity Weyrauch stand as a testament to what focus and hard work can achieve. Burdick Job Corps is proud to watch them signal a bright future for themselves and for women in the transportation industry.

SOUL SHOP: MINISTERING TO FAITH COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY SUICIDE Faith communities across the region are invited to take part in an important training opportunity this spring. Soul Shop: Ministering to Faith Communities Affected by Suicide will be held on May 7, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel Convention Center, 2200 East Burdick Expressway, Minot.

Designed specifically for pastors, ministry staff, lay leaders, and anyone who feels called to respond when people are struggling, this one-day workshop focuses on how churches can walk alongside individuals and families affected by suicide.

ND250 COMMISSION FUNDS $94K IN COMMUNITY GRANTS 15 PROJECTS RECEIVE FUNDING TO TELL LOCAL STORIES THROUGH ART, EDUCATION, AND PERFORMANCE

The ND250 Commission has awarded 15 community grants totaling $94,355 to support projects across North Dakota that celebrate and promote the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The ND250 Community Initiatives Grant Program helps organizations and local governments develop engaging projects that honor North Dakota’s influential role in America’s story.

“These grants represent more than funding—they’re an investment in how communities across North Dakota share their piece of the American story,” said Bill Peterson, director of the State Historical Society of North Dakota and chair of the ND250 Commission. “From murals and musical theater to lectures and living history, these projects help connect people to the past in ways that are meaningful, engaging, and rooted in local pride.”

MINOT HOT TOTS TO BRING NORTHWOODS LEAGUE BASEBALL AND FULL GAME-DAY EXPERIENCE TO WATFORD CITY REGULAR SEASON GAMES ON JULY 18 & JULY 19 The Minot Hot Tots are bringing the excitement of Northwoods League baseball to western North Dakota this summer with a two-game series in Watford City on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 as part of the NWL Baseball Watford City Weekend, presented by American Legion Carl E. Rogen Post 29. The Hot Tots will take on the St. Cloud Rox in two Northwoods League regular-season games at American Legion Post 29 Glenn Wahus Memorial Field, giving fans in Watford City and the surrounding region a chance to experience one of the premier summer collegiate baseball leagues in North America — right in their own community.

“We’re incredibly excited to welcome the Northwoods League and the Minot Hot Tots to Watford City this summer,” said Josh Nollmeyer, Assistant Director at the Rough Rider Center. “There’s nothing better than baseball, great people, and a fun game-day atmosphere, and this weekend is going to deliver all of that and more. CONTEMPORARY WORKS ON PAPER AT MINOT STATE UNIVERSITY The Northwest Arts Center at Minot State University is pleased to present the 54th annual “INT’L Paperworks 2026” juried art exhibition, featuring a selection of contemporary works from around the world, opened on Feb. 12. The exhibition, sponsored by the Northwest Arts Center, is the most recent installment of a program founded to enhance the visual arts experiences of the campus and regional art community. Since 1970, the annual juried exhibition has evolved from a regional print and drawing show into an international platform showcasing excellence through selected contemporary artworks.

The show focuses on artworks on or constructed of paper. This year features 36 pieces by 31 artists from around the United States, Spain, and Switzerland. In addition to drawings, photography, prints, and painting, this exhibit also showcases several sculptural works, incorporating a variety of artistic methods and techniques.

Juror for INT’L Paperworks 2026 is Dave DiMarchi of 9INHANDPRESS. DiMarchi is a queer, multi-disciplinary artist working in printmaking, papermaking, and sculptural book forms. For nearly 16 years, he has created his own work, curated exhibitions, provided print exchange opportunities, and published fine art prints as 9INHANDPRESS, a fine art printmaking and education studio.

“Jurying the nearly 300 individual works left me both excited by the state of contemporary works on paper and eager to dive back into the studio myself,” DiMarchi said of the process. “As a traditional printmaker, papermaker, book artist, and educator, I have vast appreciation for the craft of works on paper and the artists.”

DiMarchi will be visiting the Minot State campus in March as a Flat Tail Press guest artist in March. A public reception and online viewing of “INT’L Paperworks 2026” with the juror will be held on Friday, March 20 from 6:30-8 p.m. DiMarchi will be giving a juror’s talk at 7 p.m. with an awards presentation to follow.

Prior to the reception, DiMarchi will also be presenting to his own experiences in the Art Seminar Series Friday, March 20 at 12 p.m. Held in Hartnett Hall’s Recital and Lecture Hall, 106, Art Seminar presentations offer students and the public the opportunity to learn about the work, lives and experiences of guest artists visiting the University. The lecture is open to public audiences and often streamed live to the Northwest Arts Center social media channels.

While at the Northwest Arts Center, “INT’L Paperworks 2026” will be on display Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 1-5 p.m. The exhibition runs until Thursday, March 26. The Walter Piehl Gallery is located on the lower level of the Gordon B. Olson Library at Minot State University, with its own entrance on the south side of the library. The exhibition and related events are free and open to the public. The Northwest Arts Center is supported in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Topics include proven methods to raise more money, tools to recruit and retain volunteers, and solutions to beat board burnout while keeping enthusiasm high throughout the year. The goal is to strengthen ag societies, fair boards, and community events so they can continue serving future generations.

The support doesn’t end when the workshop is over.

Participants will receive 30 days of follow-up support, including weekly tools and encouragement, a clear action plan they can implement right away, and ongoing connections with peers across the Heartland. MINOT STATE UPGRADES NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURAL CENTER WITH GIFT FROM AZURE, TURTLE MOUNTAIN BAND OF CHIPPEWA INDIANS TRIBAL COUNCIL Minot State University’s Native American Cultural Center received a gift from the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians Tribal Council and Chairman Jamie Azure to upgrade furniture in the center.

Azure was on campus and took time with the MSU Native American Club during Minot State’s annual Indigenous People’s Day, serving as a speaker at the event. His time in the Native American Cultural Center led to the idea of the upgrade.

“Chairman Azure spent time speaking with our students in the Center, and he expressed the feeling of home it provided,” said Annette Mennem, Native American Cultural Center director. “He decided he wanted to gift us new furniture and set it up with Stu’s Furniture in Belcourt to enhance our space. The students and I worked together to pick out what best fit the needs of the center.”

Azure and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians Tribal Council donated furniture, including a couch, loveseat, two ottomans, two chairs, an entertainment center, a smart TV, room décor, and a dining table with six chairs.

The new items were delivered to the Center in January.
