The Agribusiness Committee works hard to spread the word about the Minot area’s role in the state’s top industry by sponsoring breakfast for youth livestock exhibitors at the ND State Fair & 4-H Achievement Days, and hosting the Dinner on the Prairie signature event.

Getting involved just got more fun by joining the “red coats!” The official public relations arm of the Minot Area Chamber EDC, this elite group visits Chamber EDC member investors, cuts ribbons, and helps host Business after Hours. Committee limited to 70 members.

Energy is a key economic driver for our state The Energy Committee, in partnership with Bakken API, facilitates open discussions among members and engages with key stakeholders focusing on timely topics that drive further energy development.

MILITARYAFFAIRSCOMMITTEE

CHAIR–TOMRAFFERTY,VERENDRYEELECTRICCOOPERATIVE Lead and strengthen the relationship between the community and the military through the Military Affairs Committee. The group sponsors a wide variety of military appreciation activities and events. There is an annual fee of $150.

This eight week course takes 25 participants behind the scenes of Minot, learning about local government, Minot Air Force Base, economic development, healthcare, education, and more. Those taking the course will learn how best to get involved with the community.

A board of directors helps to keep the program moving in the right direction by overseeing oversees fundraising and volunteers for the more than 150 classrooms in grades K - 5 in Minot public and private schools.

The Start Up Minot Academy powered by CO.STARTERS is a cohort-based program with the goal of giving fresh minds the tools, insights, and relationships needed to succeed in implementing their business idea. Guest speakers, community experts in their field, present at every class to help bring real-life answers to questions

Share a little of your life with an airman, and you will help them get a good start on their military career! Being a host family is not a full-time commitment, does not require a live-in situation, and no need to create special events to be a good host You will be connected with an airman to help familiarize them with the Minot area

Help beautify the Magic City by cleaning up around businesses and the city's entrances! Grab your work teams, get your group together, or stop by the MACEDC office on your own to sign up for a spot around the Minot area! Once the bags are filled, volunteers are encouraged to put them in a stack along the road for city crews to pick up THEFIRSTFRIDAYANDSATURDAYOFMAY

JUNIORACHIEVEMENT(JA)PROGRAM

Help to educate our young people in grades K- 5 in Minot public and private schools on the importance of the free enterprise system! Materials for each class provided. Approximately a five-hour (one hour per week) commitment, plus preparation ONCEAWEEKFOR5WEEKSINTHESPRING

Are you excited about what’s happening in Minot and opportunities for things to do in North Dakota? Help share the story to newcomers at Minot Air Force Base!
