The North Dakota State Fair is in the books and the Minot Area Chamber EDC enjoyed being a part of it!

The week started off with our board chair and Minot Mayor lucking out and getting to taste test fair food to see who had the best. Kevin Black CEO for Creedence Energy and Mayor Tom Ross as the Minot Area Chamber EDC representatives and joined three other judges to determine who had the best savory, sweet and all-around best food during the food frenzy.
Our Motor Vehicle team participated in the NDSF parade for the first time and had a great time. Our Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting to kick off the summer event. Agriculture and Military Appreciation days were supported by the Chamber EDC team

Our Vice President, Carla Dolan, joined Mayor Tom Ross, Ward County Commissioner John Fjeldahl and his wife, Connie to help determine who would be named the winner in the second annual Hometown Sound contest There were three bands who performed on Wednesday, July 26 and the four judges chose Chris Basden of Minot, who then opened for Joe Nichols
The ND State Fair wouldn’t be where it is today without the leadership of outgoing general manager Renae Korslien, who has worked there 50 years! Many board members attended the Friends of the Fair event where Mayor Tom Ross declared July 21 – July 29 as Renae Korslien Appreciation week with a proclamation he presented her along with a “Best of Show” ribbon to mark her dedication to youth in our state through the fair Congratulations all for a successful NDSF!
