Message from Our President
2023 was another year of growth for MineConnect. More new members; more events with larger audiences; more partnerships; more staff; and more recognition of the MineConnect name wherever we go It seems that we’re on the cusp of realizing what the MineConnect community can accomplish The most telling example of this is the Economic Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) related to critical minerals and green energy projects that was signed between Ontario and Nevada in September. This is, in no small part, the result of years of groundwork that we havelaidwiththeMineConnectUSAproject.
It’s been wonderful to see the strongest growth of new members in Northwestern Ontario where I’m based. Many are Indigenous-led companies This year, MineConnect’s Board of Directors added First Nation representation and we’re energized by the addition of Randi Ray, PhD Dr Ray is a proud Anishinaabe Kwe from Flying Post First Nation, as well as an entrepreneur. Randi recently led the board and staff through an Indigenous-relations training course so that we may better understand Canada's colonial history and help foster understanding, create strong partnerships, and help to move thesectorforwardtogether.
Asyoureadthroughthisreport, youwillseehowMineConnectisadheringtoitscorevaluesofcommitmenttomembers; integrity and transparency; partnership and collaboration, and of course strengthening Northern Ontario’s mining supply andservicessector
Northern Ontario has an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit. This drives the creation of new jobs and creates a more diverse regional economy. While we have immense potential, we also face unique challenges, including gaps in transportation and communication infrastructure which can hinder economic development. We’re also facing shortages in certain skilled trades and professions Accessing funding can also be a challenge for small businesses and entrepreneurs These are all challenges that MineConnect seeks to address through partnerships with (to name a few) organizations like Women in Mining Canada, ACCES Employment, and all three levels of government. MineConnect membershipensuresthatyouhaveavoiceatthetable.
Last year, I encouraged you to engage with MineConnect. To attend events, read MineConnect eNews, and let us know if there’s an area of business in which you could use some guidance We don’t have all the answers of course, but we can findthepiecestohelpyoufinishtheproverbialpuzzle Chancesare, othermembersarelookingforthosesamepieces
MytermastheChairofMineConnect’sBoardofDirectorsisnowcomplete, andI’dliketothankmycohortsontheBoard for sharing their time, expertise and friendship. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I extend our gratitude to MineConnect’s staff, led by Executive Director, Marla Tremblay. Paul Finley, Heather Johnston, Lisa McIvor, and Ife Sonde, round out the MineConnect team. It’s a small group, but with the help of the MineConnect community, they’re doing great things for our members and Northern Ontario as a whole Last, but not least on the gratitude list are our members ThankyouforbeingaMineConnectmember

Message from The Executive Director
As I reflect upon the past year, I am humbled and honoured to express my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible support, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our organization During this time, we have achieved significant milestones that have laid the foundation for a stronger and more cohesive association.
In speaking with members and partners this past year, the power of MineConnect’s intangible qualities has made the deepest impression on me The opportunities we offer for connection, mutual support, and excellence have established us as a respected leader in the mining supply industry
I am delighted to share that our membership continues to grow, with over 260 corporate and associate members, officially solidifying our position as Canada's largest mining supply and services trade association. The work of both leadership at the Board and staff level has made that possible Our dedicated group is pushing the vision of MineConnect forward by hosting high-calibre events, offering meaningful learning opportunities, and attracting the next generation of workers through various partnership programs.
Something that has been on my mind this year has been both the evolution and revolution required for great things to happen This industry is no stranger to years of groundwork and the spark of the grand unveiling, and I want to take some time to highlight the groundwork laid by MineConnect as we continue to evolve
MineConnect Team
A priority has been developing a team with diverse skills and experiences to help lead the organization into the future We recognized the need to fortify our internal capabilities to support our members better and further our mission We took strategic steps to add critical staff and expertise to our team, which has significantly enhanced our ability to address challenges and deliver greater value to you. I am extremely proud of the team and truly appreciate their dedication to our mission and our members.
Communications and Transparency
We have increased our two-way communications with our members and partners by hosting webinars, implementing member feedback through surveying, and improving our reporting processes. Strategic improvements to online content were also implemented to better reflect what matters to members as seen on social media, in our newsletter, and our website.
Programs & Member Benefits
Our members have a more customized experience with MineConnect through software updates, a revitalized member portal, personalized content, and staff support. We have increased the number and type of events that we both host and co-host, and I’m thrilled to report that this past year we saw record attendance!
These are just a few highlights of a busy but productive year As far as revolutions are concerned, we are excited to be announcing new events such as two Reverse Expos, a Media FAM tour, and a new approach to our partnership with Nevada in 2024.
In closing, I extend my heartfelt thanks to MineConnect President Todd Domney, who has led the charge for the past two years, and the full board for driving the positive changes we have achieved thus far I am proud to serve as your Executive Director, and I, along with the entire team, am honored to represent the women and men who are advancing the region’s Mining Supply and Services sector The value you bring to the mining industry and Northern Ontario is truly the cornerstone of our collective success.

MineConnect USA Update
Under the auspices of Ontario’s North Economic Development Corporation (ONEDC), with funding support from FedNor and the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), MineConnect was contracted in 2021 to lead a 3-year pilot project focused on establishing a local presence in Nevada It is as a direct result of this partnership with the Nevada Governor’s Office and the Northeastern Nevada Regional Development Authority (NNRDA) that an Economic Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by the Governments of Ontario and Nevada in September of 2023. We anticipate that this will serve to further strengthen our members’ competitive edge, now and into the future.
The trusted voice of mining supply and services is set to start the next chapter of connecting its members to the global mining industry via a new web series. All current and past members of the MineConnect USA Nevada Cluster are eligible to have their company featured in one of ten 30-minute episodes to discuss projects, technology and the mining industry we so proudly serve!
