DepEd Ozamiz expects more schools to reopen for face-to-face classes

OZAMIZ CITY – The Department of Education (DepEd) in Ozamiz City foresees the reopening of more schools to hold limited in-person classes with its progressive expansion, as alert level status was lowered in the province.
Ozamiz City Schools Division Superintendent Jean G. Veloso said the implementation of face-to-face classes is progressive as they are still studying the situation to really ensure the safety of teachers, children, and the entire community.
“Let's see how it goes and we will also make an adjustment to our plan to ensure that it is safe for the children to return to school,” Veloso said.
DepEd Ozamiz is also ready and continues their preparation, especially the Ozamiz City School of Arts and Trades (OCSAT), Ozamiz City National High School and all the remaining schools in the city.
“We make sure to balance the learning continuity and safety of the children so DepEd ensures that our school opens limited face-toface classes that grant them the safety seal,” she added.

DA-NorMin, AFCs tackle results of agri monitored projects in exit conference

CITY – The Agriculture and Fishery Council (AFC) in Northern Mindanao presented its findings of the DA monitored projects in Region 10 to the management of the Department of Agriculture-10 during an exit conference on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Region 10 Regional Agriculture and Fishery Council (RAFC) Chair, Engr. Reynaldo M. Cabanao commented its findings and recommendations of the various implemented projects covering some delivered and completed agricultural projects to the farmers since 2017.
Their findings include the utilization and operation of the small-water irrigation systems, machineries, and equipment; survival rate of the livestock and poultry animals and planting materials; and the efficiency of the farm inputs, among others.
As presented by the provincial and municipal AFCs, the farm-to-market roads (FMRs) have been beneficial to the farmers and other stakeholders, especially in transporting their produce; and lessens their post-harvest losses.
However, some projects also cited needs assessment, replacement, repair, and adjustment for further utilization according to the provincial and municipal AFCs.
DA-10 Regional Technical Director for Operations Carlota S. Madriaga emphasized, that said undertaking is annually conducted by the AFCs.
Their inputs are crucial in ensuring full utilization of DA's projects and services intended for the farmers and fisherfolk across the region.
“The AFCs willingly work with DA in monitoring our in each local government units to come up with efficient recommendations and longstanding solutions for the said completed projects. With this, we can assure that DA has acted its mandate in increasing the farmer's and fisherfolks income through the provision of useful and functional agri interventions,” RTD Madriaga remarked. Assessment Tool (SSAT), thus, they are given the Safety Seal, which means that these learning institutions follow the health protocols.
Despite efforts to physically reopen more schools for face-to-face classes, the superintendent emphasized that the blended learning modality will still be utilized to supplement face-to-face classes.
Although some children have already attended faceto-face classes Veloso clarified that this does not mean that other students will be neglected because they will still be utilizing the modular setup and also because it is a progressive or developing process, children may be able to actually return to face-toface classes under the new and better normal if the situation continues to improve in relation to the health crisis.
She also assures that even outside home, children are guaranteed to be protected as school facilities are designed to enforce the minimum health protocols and teachers are also tasked with enforcing them and monitoring children to strictly adhere to such regulations, guidelines to their protection from the disease.
