Lawyer’s killer posed as his client By Edwin O. Fernandez
POLICE authorities in South Cotabato said one of the gunmen who shot Atty. Juan Macababbad on Wednesday posed as client seeking the lawyer’s services. Probers are looking at various possible motives,
Castañares said, including matters related to his works and the coming elections. Responding police officers found a folder containing documents left by the suspects who hurriedly left after the shooting. Investigators believed that the folder was used as a tool to convince the lawyer his “guest” was not a bad guy. Castañares said Macababbad’s relatives claimed he has been receiving death threats but did not elaborate. Police found seven empty shells for cal. 45 pistol at the crime scene. Atty. Remegio Roxas, president of IBP-South Cotabato/GenSan chapter, described the slain lawyer as “dedicated
