CREATIVE TEAM Stefano Massini Playwright Internationally renowned novelist and playwright and the first Italian author to receive a Tony Award. Massini regularly contributes to la Repubblica and currently serves as Artistic Consultant at Piccolo Teatro di Milano. His works have been translated into 30 languages, and his plays have been performed in more theaters worldwide than those of any other living Italian writer. His awards include the Premio Vittorio Tondelli, Premio Ubu, Tony Award, Dramatists Guild Award, and Outer Critics Circle Award.

The Lehman Trilogy was among the most acclaimed novels published in Italy in recent years.

Writer for theater and screen who worked for 12 years at the National Theatre in London as Associate Director and Deputy Artistic Director, where he created the Shed, the National Theatre’s temporary studio theater. Jill Walmsley Zager Voice & Dialect Coach Jill is delighted to return to Milwaukee Repertory Theater, where she has coached more than 35 productions. Peter Chapman Author Peter Chapman is the author of The Last of the Imperious Rich: Lehman Brothers, 1844–2008, a leading reference on the history of the Lehman family.

Mark Clements Artistic Director Mark is an awardwinning international theater director whose work has appeared in over 100 major theaters throughout Europe and the United States. He began his tenure as Artistic Director with the 2010/11 Season by bringing musicals to the mainstage, starting a tradition that is now the highlight of every season. Mark has directed over 30+ productions at Milwaukee Rep including World and American Premieres,

and his own adaptation of the current A Christmas Carol. Prior to joining Milwaukee Rep, Mark served as an Associate Artistic Director for several UK theater companies, most notably, Artistic Director for the awardwinning Derby Playhouse in the UK where he directed over 40 productions. He has been nominated for an Olivier Award and several UK Theatre Awards, and has won three Barrymore Awards in Philadelphia. He created and directed the West End and UK National Tour of Soul Train. Mark is currently working with Ayad Akhtar on adapting his critically acclaimed novel American Dervish for the stage to make its World Premiere in an upcoming season.

Chad Bauman Ellen & Joe Checota Executive Director Since 2013, Chad Bauman has led Milwaukee Rep through a period of extraordinary growth, transforming it into one of the nation’s most prolific regional theaters with over 700 performances annually. Under his leadership, the Rep eliminated debt, doubled its endowment, grew net assets from $16 million to over $100 million and opened the state-of-the-art Associated Bank Theater Center. Previously he served as Associate Executive Director of Arena Stage opening the Mead Center for American Theater in 2010. A passionate advocate for the arts, he serves on several local boards, holds an MFA in Producing from CalArts and is pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership from North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
