BIOS Katie Bender Playwright/Performer Katie is a playwright and performer. Her plays include Judith, SHE WOLF, The Survivors/ Los Sobrevivientes, Instructions for a Séance, Howling, Texas and The Optimizers. Katie’s work has been developed and produced all over the country including at Hyde Park Theatre, Alley Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Kitchen Dog Theater, The Playwrights’ Center, LAUNCH PAD at UC Santa Barbara, Fusebox Festival, THT Rep, New Harmony Project, ACT Theatre, Urbanite Theatre and Amphibian Stage. Her play Judith received the B. Iden Payne award for Best New Script. Katie was a Jerome Fellow and a Core Writer at The Playwrights’ Center. She received her MFA from The University of Texas. Lily Wolff Director Lily is a British-American director specializing in new work by living writers. She is the New Works Associate at Chautauqua Theater Company, the Literary Manager at InterAct Theatre Company in Philadelphia, and former Literary Manager of Houston’s Alley Theatre. Lily has directed and developed work at Milwaukee Rep, Palm Beach Dramaworks, Keen Company, New York Stage and Film, New Georges, Mile Square Theatre, Everyman Theatre, Alley Theatre, Chautauqua Theater Company, OKC Rep, Amphibian Stage, the Contemporary American Theater Festival, Rec Room Arts, Texas Performing Arts/Fusebox Festival, Theater503, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and pandemic parenthood.

Collette Pollard Scenic Designer Collette is thrilled to return to Milwaukee Rep where she designed What the Constitution Means to Me, Little Women, Steel Magnolias, Eclipsed and The Chinese Lady. Paige is a NYC based lighting designer for live performance. She’s thrilled to be rejoining the team after lighting the show at Amphibian Stage in 2024. Broadway: Titanique. Emily is thrilled to return to Milwaukee Repertory Theater for this production of Instructions for a Séance. Previous Milwaukee stage management credits include The Fisherman’s Daughters, Lumberjacks in Love, Guys on Ice and Nunsense (Milwaukee Repertory Theater); A ROCKIN' Midsummer Night's Dream, Fiddler on the Roof, Sister Act and Noises Off (Skylight Music Theatre); An Iliad, LIBERACE! and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Milwaukee Chamber Theatre). She has also worked at Northern Sky Theater, Gateway Playhouse, Cleveland Public Theatre, Seattle Rep, and First Stage. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, she is a graduate of Denison University and a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.

Kathy Ruvuna Sound Designer Kathy is New York-based sound designer. Merit Glover Stage Manager (10/24 – 11/8) Merit (he/him) is a regional AEA Stage Manager recently based in Milwaukee and originally from Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Recent productions include The Book Club Play, Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder (TheatreSquared), Midsummer, Anything Goes (Gulfshore Playhouse), Joan, Boeing Boeing, Blues For An Alabama Sky (Barrington Stage Company), and A Christmas Story: The Musical (Surflight Theatre). B.A., Theatre Arts & Spanish, Case Western Reserve University.


BIOS (CONT.) Mark Clements Artistic Director Mark is an award-winning international theater director whose work has appeared at 100 theaters throughout Europe and the United States. Since becoming Milwaukee Rep’s Artistic Director in 2010, he has directed more than 30 productions, including world and American premieres; his adaptation of A Christmas Carol; and all but two mainstage musicals, including Run Bambi Run, Titanic the Musical, West Side Story and Dreamgirls. His introduction of musicals to the mainstage created a tradition that remains a season highlight. Previously, Mark served as associate artistic director for several UK theater companies and Artistic Director of Derby Playhouse, where he directed more than 40 productions. He has earned an Olivier Award nomination, UK Theatre Award nominations and three Barrymore Awards. He is adapting Ayad Akhtar’s novel American Dervish for the stage.

Chad Bauman Ellen & Joe Checota Executive Director Since joining Milwaukee Rep in 2013, Bauman has led a period of exceptional growth, eliminating debt, more than doubling the annual budget and endowment, achieving consistent operating surpluses, and growing net assets from $16 million to $111 million. He has raised more than $108 million through four capital campaigns and opened the Associated Bank Theater Center, the nation’s largest regional theater complex to open in a decade. Previously, at Arena Stage, he helped open the Mead Center and worked on acclaimed Broadway transfers. His honors include BizTimes’ Community Leader of the Year and Nonprofit CEO of the Year. A doctoral candidate at UNC–Chapel Hill, he also holds an MFA from CalArts and completed leadership programs at Brown University and Harvard.
