Joanie Schultz Director
Joanie serves as Associate Artistic Director at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. She has directed at theatres across the country, including Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Studio Theatre (Washington, DC), Portland Center Stage, Cleveland Play House, Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre Company and Philadelphia Theatre Company. Joanie previously served as Artistic Director of Water Tower Theatre in Texas and as Associate Artistic Producer at Victory Gardens Theater as part of the Leadership U One-on-One Fellowship funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered through Theatre Communications Group. She is a Drama League Fellow, a Goodman Theatre Michael Maggio Directing Fellow, an SDSF Denham Fellow, a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab and the 2025 recipient of the Zelda Fichandler Award. Jacqueline Penrod Scenic Designer
Jacqueline previously designed Frida… A Self Portrait at Writers Theatre, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Geva Theatre Center, Pittsburgh Public Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Portland Center Stage, and Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Jacqueline’s award-winning design work has been seen throughout Chicago and regionally. Some of her favorite collaborations include Lookingglass Theatre Company, Pegasus Theatre Chicago, Northlight Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Next Theatre Company, and Remy Bumppo Theatre Company. Jacqueline recently designed Pivot at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, Georgiana & Kitty: Christmas at Pemberley at Buffalo Theatre Ensemble, The Hobbit for Young People’s Theatre of Chicago, and Annie for Music Theater Works. Katherine is a Costume Designer based out of Kansas City. Aside from Frida… A Self Portrait, her recent designs include Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Johnson County Community College), Milking Christmas (Black Box Theatre), Sonnets for an Old Century (TTU-SOTD), Dracula; A Song of Love and Death (UMKC Theatre and KCAT), Brother Toad (OriginKC; New Works Festival) and more. A Chicago-based theatre artist, Thomas is an ensemble member at Steep Theatre Company. His work has been seen in Chicago and nationally at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Writers Theatre, Cleveland Play House, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Oregon Shakespeare Festival and many more. Janine Vanderhoff Stage Manager
Janine has been a stage manager and production manager for more than 25 years on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regionally, and on tour. Some favorites include The Lion King (Original Broadway Company), The Vagina Monologues, The Graduate (starring Morgan Fairchild), Cats, Jekyll & Hyde, and many more. She has stage managed over 30 shows in the past ten seasons at Portland Center Stage. Janine has production managed at multiple regional theaters as well as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart “Democalypse 2012 Republican National Convention.” Frida Forever. Proud NYU graduate and AEA member.

Artistic Director
Mark is an awardwinning international theater director whose work has appeared in over 100 major theaters throughout Europe and the United States. He
began his tenure as Artistic Director with the 2010/11 Season by bringing musicals to the mainstage, starting a tradition that is now the highlight of every season. Mark has directed over 30+ productions at Milwaukee Rep including World and American Premieres, and his own adaptation of the current A Christmas Carol. Prior to joining Milwaukee Rep, Mark served as an Associate Artistic Director for several UK theater companies, most notably, Artistic Director for the awardwinning Derby Playhouse in the UK where he directed over 40 productions. He has been nominated for an Olivier Award and several UK Theatre Awards, and has won three Barrymore Awards in Philadelphia. He created and directed the West End and UK National Tour of Soul Train. Mark is currently working with Ayad Akhtar on adapting his critically acclaimed novel American Dervish for the stage to make its World Premiere in an upcoming season.

Since 2013, Chad Bauman has led Milwaukee Rep through a period of extraordinary growth, transforming it into one of the nation’s most prolific regional theaters with over 700 performances annually. Under his leadership, the Rep eliminated debt, doubled its endowment, grew net assets from $16 million to over $100 million and opened the state-of-the-art Associated Bank Theater Center. Previously he served as Associate Executive Director of Arena Stage opening the Mead Center for American Theater in 2010. A passionate advocate for the arts, he serves on several local boards, holds an MFA in Producing from CalArts and is pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership from North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
