He received his formal training from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee with additional training from Milwaukee Rep’s Emerging Professional Residency. Throughout his career, he has worked with various musicians and organizations including Skylight Music Theatre, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, legendary lyricist Tim Rice, and many university and high school musical productions throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Colin O'Day Guitar 2 Colin is thrilled to return to Milwaukee Rep after being last featured in the Orchestra of Prelude to a Kiss a musical! A native Milwaukee percussionist, he has performed with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Skylight Music Theatre, Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, Wisconsin Philharmonic, and Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra. Outside of the orchestra pit, Colin is an active freelance performer and champion of contemporary music. Alissa Rhode Keyboard 2 Alissa is a composer, arranger/orchestrator, music director, pianist, and vocalist. Dean Pitchford Stage Adaptation, Lyrics & Original Screenplay Dean Pitchford is an Academy Award-, Golden Globe-, and Grammy-winning writer and director whose career spans Broadway, Hollywood, and popular music. Pitchford earned an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the title song of Fame, alongside four total Academy Award nominations across his career. He wrote the original screenplay and lyrics for the smash-hit 1984 film Footloose, later adapting his work for the hit Broadway stage production. Pitchford also conceived and wrote the lyrics for the Broadway musical Carrie. His extensive catalog of classic hits includes "Holding Out for a Hero," "Let's Hear It for the Boy," and "Almost Paradise," securing his place as a master of story and song. Walter Bobbie Stage Adaptation Walter Bobbie is a Tony Award-winning director and actor whose influential career in the American theater spans over four decades. His iconic songs have been recorded by legendary artists including Ray Charles, Linda Ronstadt, Joe Cocker, Dolly Parton, Bonnie Raitt, and Christina Aguilera. Snow’s work for film and television includes acclaimed contributions to soundtracks such as Footloose, Disney’s Oliver & Company, and The Karate Kid. For the stage adaptation of Footloose, Snow expanded his original blockbuster film score with dynamic new theater compositions, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Original Score. Eric Carmen Additional Music Eric Carmen was an acclaimed singer, songwriter, and musician who made lasting contributions to pop and rock music across a multi-decade career. Kenny Loggins Additional Music & Lyrics Kenny Loggins is a two-time Grammy Awardwinning singer, songwriter, and guitarist revered worldwide as the "King of the Movie Soundtrack". After gaining stardom in the popular duo Loggins and Messina, he launched a wildly successful solo career that yielded top-charting pop hits across multiple decades. Loggins co-wrote and performed the iconic, chart-topping title track "Footloose," which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. His legendary soundtrack contributions also include "Danger Zone" (Top Gun) and "I'm Alright" (Caddyshack). Jim Steinman Additional Music Jim Steinman was a Grammy Award-winning composer, lyricist, and producer celebrated for his grand, operatic rock style. Mark Clements Artistic Director Mark is an award-winning international theater director whose work has appeared at 100 theaters throughout Europe and the United States. Since becoming Milwaukee Rep’s Artistic Director in 2010, he has directed more than 30 productions, including world and American premieres; his adaptation of A Christmas Carol; and all but two mainstage musicals, including Run Bambi Run, Titanic the Musical, West Side Story and Dreamgirls. His introduction of musicals to the mainstage created a tradition that remains a season highlight. Previously, Mark served as associate artistic director for several UK theater companies and Artistic Director of Derby Playhouse, where he directed more than 40 productions. He has earned an Olivier Award nomination, UK Theatre Award nominations and three Barrymore Awards. He is adapting Ayad Akhtar’s novel American Dervish for the stage. Chad Bauman Ellen & Joe Checota Executive Director Since joining Milwaukee Rep in 2013, Bauman has led a period of exceptional growth, eliminating debt, more than doubling the annual budget and endowment, achieving consistent operating surpluses, and growing net assets from $16 million to $111 million. He has raised more than $108 million through four capital campaigns and opened the Associated Bank Theater Center, the nation’s largest regional theater complex to open in a decade. Previously, at Arena Stage, he helped open the Mead Center and worked on acclaimed Broadway transfers. His honors include BizTimes’ Community Leader of the Year and Nonprofit CEO of the Year. A doctoral candidate at UNC–Chapel Hill, he also holds an MFA from CalArts and completed leadership programs at Brown University and Harvard.
