Marcell Guyton Performer
Marcell Guyton is a Milwaukee-based professional piano player and singer. His diverse music catalog and incredible talent comes from over 30 years in the business, traveling throughout the country and the world. With the ability to entertain in multiple different styles ranging from Johnny Cash to Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson to Billy Joel, and everything in-between, Marcell rocks every room he’s in! Along with his solo performances, Marcell also leads popular local band “The Rhythm Kings”.
Steve Watts Performer, Music Director
Steve has been knocking about in piano bars/clubs/ cabarets/cruise ships and banging on the keys therein for over 20 years, doing so here in Milwaukee
as well as in NYC, Chicago, Las Vegas and elsewhere both nationally and internationally. He is also an AEA actor: previous Milwaukee Rep credits include Titanic the Musical, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, I Love a Piano and Ragtime. Other regional credits include Rock of Ages (Mercury Theater Chicago), Jersey Boys, Annie (Fireside Theatre); Elf (First Stage). Many thanks to family and friends for continued love and support. CREATIVE TEAM
Mark is an award-winning international theater director whose work has appeared in over 100 major theaters throughout Europe and the United States. He began his tenure as Artistic Director with the 2010/11 Season by bringing musicals to the mainstage, starting a tradition that is now the highlight of every season. Milwaukee Rep directing credits include the world premieres of One House Over, his own adaptation of the current A Christmas Carol, Five Presidents and American Song. Also directed for Milwaukee Rep: Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, Things I Know To Be True (American Premiere), Junk, The Glass Menagerie, Of Mice and Men, Othello, Death of a Salesman, The History of Invulnerability, End of the Rainbow, Clybourne Park and Bombshells. Some of his New York and international work includes Speaking in Tongues, The Milliner and Blunt Speaking, in addition to creating and directing the West End and UK National Tour of Soul Train. Prior to joining Milwaukee Rep, Mark served as an Associate Artistic Director for several UK theater companies, most notably, Artistic Director for the award-winning Derby Playhouse in the UK from 1992-2002, where he directed over 40 productions. He has been nominated for an Olivier Award and several UK Theatre Awards, and has won three Barrymore Awards from his time at Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. Mark is currently working with Ayad Akhtar on adapting his critically acclaimed novel American Dervish for the stage to make its world premiere at Milwaukee Rep in an upcoming season.
Aaron Lichamer
Original Scenic Designer
Aaron (he/him) is a Chicago based designer. He has worked extensively in the Midwest, most recently as the lighting designer for Songbird at Florentine Opera. He is glad to be back in Wisconsin. Other recent lighting designs include Another Sunrise/For A Look or A Touch, The Cook Off (Chicago Opera Theater), Southern Gothic (Windy City Playhouse); Country Sunshine, Unforgettable: John-Mark McGaha Sings Nat King Cole, Dad’s Season Tickets, and Piano Men (Milwaukee Rep). Nicholas Hartman
Costume Designer
Nicholas comes from Chicago and Florida but now calls Milwaukee home. He is the Costume Director at Milwaukee Rep. Nicholas had spent the past 15 years living in sunny southwest Florida at Venice Theatre as resident designer/shop manager. He was previously the resident designer/shop manager with the Manatee Players at Riverfront Theatre in Bradenton, FL, as well as resident designer for RWS & Associates in NYC. Nicholas holds an associate degree from International Fine Arts College in Miami, FL and a BFA from Illinois State University. He holds numerous awards in costume design and construction at national and state levels including National Outstanding Best Costume Designer at the AACT. Dakota Kroes
Lighting Designer
Dakota Kroes is a Racine native lighting designer. Most recently, he has been working as the lighting director for Milwaukee Rep. Previously he has worked as the lighting designer for Six Flags theme parks. Dakota received his undergraduate degree from Illinois Wesleyan University.
Jonathan Hetler Casting
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Jonathan is Milwaukee Rep’s Artistic Producer and oversees all casting and special events. Directing highlights include: Romeo and Juliet, Venus in Fur, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Glengarry Glen Ross, Pippin, Legally Blonde, Guys and Dolls, and the world premiere of La Mujer Barbuda. At the Milwaukee Rep, he has directed Dino! An Evening with Dean Martin and served as the Associate Director of Titanic the Musical and the annual production of A Christmas Carol. He also worked as the Assistant Director on West Side Story, The Nerd, and The Legend of Georgia McBride. Sydney Smith Production Coordinator
Sydney is thrilled to return to Milwaukee Repertory Theater for Piano Men 2! Previously at Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Sydney worked on Country Sunshine: The Legendary Ladies of Nashville With Katie Deal as the Production Coordinator and The Nativity Variations as a Production Assistant. Most recently, Sydney was the Assistant Stage Manager for The Wolves at Renaissance Theaterworks. Sydney has also worked at Milwaukee Chamber Theatre and Summerfest.
Now in his eleventh season at Milwaukee Rep, under Chad’s guidance the theater has grown significantly from a $9M to $14M+ organization. He’s completed two capital campaigns to remodel the Stackner Cabaret, build the endowment, launch the John D. Lewis New Play Development Program, create a new A Christmas Carol and deepen the theater’s community engagement
programs. He is currently stewarding the $78M campaign to build the new Associated Bank Theater Center. Previously he was the Associate Executive Director at Arena Stage in Washington, DC, where he was instrumental in opening the Mead Center for American Theater, a new 200,000 square feet performing arts complex. While at Arena, he worked on the Broadway transfers of Next to Normal (Pulitzer Prize; Tony Award), Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Tony Award), and Wishful Drinking starring Carrie Fisher. Bauman is a graduate of Harvard Business School with a Master of Fine Arts in producing from the CalArts.
