John Kennedy was the youngest president ever elected in US history. He inherited the Cold War from his predecessor, Dwight Eisenhower, and he faced major challenges regarding Vietnam, the Soviet Union, and Cuba. The US civil rights movement also became a major challenge for the young president. Tragically Kennedy was assassinated in the streets of Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. Join us for this 6-part series as Dr. Crain takes us through the twists and turns of the evolution and history of JFK. All presentations will be held at Trinity Woods and begin at 6:00 PM

On this “Taste of Milwaukee” tour, we’ll travel throughout Milwaukee

learning the history, culture and food of the different ethnic groups who settled here, picking up tasty treats along the way! We’ll visit areas such as Walker’s Point, the Historic Third Ward, East Town, Old World Third Street, Lincoln Village, Brady Street, and the North Shore, enjoying the culinary treats that define each neighborhood – from chocolate, cheese, cannoli, and custard to bakery, beer, bratwurst, and brandy! We’ll also enjoy a German sampler lunch at Mader’s. Bring your appetite for an educational and fun-filled day in Milwaukee! $55.

Oct. 27: Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 at the Sunset Playhouse | 2:00 PM | T Trinity Woods

9 to 5 The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. The bus will depart at 1:00 PM.

Having studied voice in high school and college in her native state of Maine, Julie’s classical training is her foundation for her folk and jazz work. Join us for a voice and piano duo from Julie and her accompanist.

Pets Helping People and their Partners believe in the healing power of a cold nose and a wagging tail! Our furry friends help fight loneliness and anxiety while keeping the body active and positively impacting many other areas of health and wellness. Please join us as we welcome Pets Helping People and their team of trained therapy animals for a delightful and informative program!

Nov. 13: War Memorial Tour & Lunch

Dedicated on Veterans Day in 1957 and designated Milwaukee Landmark in 1974, The War Memorial Center is the stunning architectural achievement of renowned FinnishAmerican architect Eero Saarinen. Join us for an afternoon celebrating our veterans. After stopping at The War Memorial for a guided docent led tour, we will head over to a veteran owned business, State Street Pizza Pub for lunch!

Join us for a lovely morning of music with the incredibly talented Ada Trio! This highly accomplished and talented string trio consists of Paul Hauer (First violin/MSO), Addison Teng (Director – Fulton Summer Music Academy) and Amy Hess (Violist – Lyric Opera of Chicago). Mimosas and pastry (beginning at 9:30 AM) add a special touch to this performance!

Celebrated on the third Thursday of November, Beaujolais Nouveau Day marks the release of the first wine of the new harvest from the Beaujolais region in eastern France, where it is a huge celebration! We’re joining the party this year with a sampling of this fruity red wine that is meant to be enjoyed while it is “new.” Learn the history of the celebration and nuances of the wine while enjoying French music and perfect food pairings from the region. A wonderful way to kick off the holiday season!

We are delighted to continue kicking off the Christmas Season with the wonderful Community Chorus! With 50-60 members, this four-part harmonizing choir will get you in the Christmas spirit like nothing else! Milwaukee Catholic Home has been providing the best in senior care since 1913. The Residence at 2462 and The Health and Rehabilitation Center are located on the east side in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Trinity Woods is an intergenerational living community created in partnership between the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Mount Mary University, and Milwaukee Catholic Home.

Clare Gardens at the Catholic Ecology Center in Neosho, Wisconsin is a sustainable farmto-table project that offers acres of organic vegetables, an orchard, beehives, hens, and composting of food waste.

Our Lady of the Angels Convent is a 48-unit religious community managed by Milwaukee Catholic Home and is sponsored by the School Sisters of Notre Dame and the School Sisters of St. Francis. It is located in Greenfield, Wisconsin.

Queen of Peace Friary is a senior housing community managed by Milwaukee Catholic Home and located in Burlington, Wisconsin. It is home to 20 retired Franciscan Friar brothers.

Dec. 5: A One-Woman Christmas Carol with Jessica Michna | 2:00 PM | T Trinity Woods

Actress Jessica Michna will perform a one-woman show called “Mrs. Dickens Reads A Christmas Carol.” Jessica Michna researches women of renown, writes scripts, sews authentic period costumes, and then performs her characters in the first person for her audiences. She is well known in the Milwaukee area and has been featured on CBS 58 Sunday Morning.

Dec. 11: Christmas Lights Bus Tour

Join us for hot chocolate and lights as we take a tour through the neighborhoods and view the Christmas decor of the East Side neighborhoods!

Dec. 13: Fireside Theatre – Miracle On 34th Street | T Trinity Woods

Based on the beloved Christmas movie, Miracle on 34th Street, is a big brassy Broadway musical with a heart. The Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade needs a new Santa. Enter

Oct. 11: Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra: Gemma New Conducts

Gemma New, “one of the brightest rising stars in the conducting firmament” (St. Louis Post Dispatch), returns to guide the MSO through the adventure of Sibelius’s Second Symphony! Opening the program is Szymanowski’s Second Violin Concerto, a lyrical journey rich with color, and made even richer in the hands of violin virtuoso Vadim Gluzman. Nov. 15: Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra: Reinhardt Conducts Beethoven | 10:30 AM

Trinity Senior Services Care Partner Program provides companionship services and assistance with daily tasks for residents at Milwaukee Catholic Home, Trinity Woods, and Clement Manor.

Ruth Reinhardt, “an elegant, versatile and committed conductor in the search for expressive colors” (Scherzo), helms this program, which includes Haydn’s Symphony No. 80 —too often overlooked, this turbulent music turns storms to sunlight. Beethoven’s expressive Third Piano Concerto ranks as some of his finest music; Alessio Bax, whom Gramophone considers to be “clearly among the most remarkable young pianists now before the public,” opens with this gem.
