Milton Abbey’s Summer School is an unforgettable two-week experience designed for students aged 12-15, our secluded and picturesque valley. This unique program invites international students to dive into a wide r sports, creative arts, and immersive English language classes, all while developing essential social skills and gain hand insight into British culture.
Our exceptional facilities, supported by a dedicated staff, offer a wealth of experiences. From a working fa stables to a nine-hole golf course, swimming pool, fitness gym, and beautifully maintained grass pitches, Milton provides the perfect backdrop for students to explore their passions. During the two-week programme, you'll have the opportunity to create and customise your own schedule of activities:
Improve your English through tailored lessons designed to enhance both communication and comprehension
Participate in creative and fun activities such as jewellery making, cooking, and designing your own tshirts and bags
Access a variety of sports, including tennis, golf, football and adventurous activities*
Develop your teamwork and leadership skills through various activities
Visit London to ride the London Eye and explore a famous museum/market such as Borough Market, or tour a premiership football stadium
Evening activities such as using the gym, swimming pool, tennis courts, and other fun events
Enjoy weekend trips to the beach and an outdoor adventure centre
Receive the Milton Abbey English Language Certificate upon completing the two-week course

With seating for up to 300 people, our modern auditorium has a data projector, wi-fi and toilet facilities. The theatre is an appropriate space for converting into a cinema for films, sporting events and pupil shows and assemblies.
Each house can accommodate students in single and shared dorms and will be run by Milton Abbey staff. Each house comes complete with a common room for relaxation during down time and a kitchen facility.
Our indoor sports facilities include a swimming pool, fitness gym, sports hall, golf simulator room and indoor turbo zone for indoor bike riding. You will have the opportunity to use the tennis courts, football pitches and golf course as part of our evening activities programme. Our school has one of the best maintained and visually stunning outdoor facilities in the South West of England.
We have a wide range of specialist classrooms and workshops onsite including:
Hospitality kitchens - learn to bake, create your own pizza and three course meal
Design and Technology - learn to make furniture and solve problems using modern technology and machines
Fashion - learn to design, create and wear your own pieces.
While you are with us, you will have access to an excellent range of delicious food. Breakfast, lunch and supper are served in the school’s Abbot’s Hall. There are also snacks available in our tuck shop in addition to refreshment available in the house kitchens. You will be provided with packed lunches when you travel offsite on day trips.
House Music is a cherished tradition at Milton Abbey, where each house is assigned a theme to create and perform a song by the end of the week. This fun and creative challenge offers a unique opportunity for students to collaborate and showcase their teamwork in a completely different setting from the daytime activities!
Upon arrival, you will complete an English assessment to help us customise your learning experience during your twoweek stay. You will receive 25 hours of English lessons and, at the end of the course, be awarded a Milton Abbey Diploma.
Participate in creative and fun activities such as jewellery making, cooking, art and designing your own t-shirts and bags.
You will have the opportunity to be coached by specialists in a specific sport, or experience a range of different sports and adventurous activities. Sports include tennis, golf, swimming, kayaking, sailing, climbing, and a variety of other exhilarating outdoor pursuits.
Evening activities start at 19:00 after supper. We have organised activities available every evening including quizzes, games of golf, swimming, movie nights, gym sessions and much more.
Throughout the week, you'll enjoy a diverse range of daytime activities such as tennis, golf, swimming, mountain biking, kayaking, sailing, and climbing. For added excitement, there will also be fun challenges like paintballing to keep things engaging and adventurous.
In the evenings, the fun continues with music competition practice, access to outdoor sports facilities, and a lively disco to cap off your experience in style.
This dynamic mix ensures a perfect balance of challenge, relaxation, and entertainment!

Students will have easy access to some of England’s most popular attractions. From the stunning beaches of the renowned Jurassic Coast to the historic cities of Bath and Bristol, you'll be perfectly situated to explore both natural beauty and cultural landmarks. Just a couple of hours away from London, you’ll experience all it’s famous attractions.
Milton Abbey School is nestled in the heart of the Dorset countryside, just outside the picturesque village of Milton Abbas.
Located on the Dorset Riviera in southern England, the school is approximately 2 hours from Heathrow Airport and 2.5 hours from London Waterloo station. It sits around 30 miles southwest of Salisbury, midway between the historic market towns of Blandford Forum and Dorchester.
The nearest train stations are Dorchester, Salisbury, and Gillingham, all offering direct services to London Waterloo. From there, onward connections are available to both Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
For added convenience, regional airports including Bournemouth, Southampton, Bristol, and Exeter are also within easy reach.
The Swanage Railway is a railway branch line from near Wareham, Dorset to Swanage, Dorset, England, opened in 1885 and now operated as a heritage railway.
