to fifth grade at École Carrefour de l’Acadie, École Anna-Malenfant and Lou MacNarin School. Registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning on Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to noon for residents and on Monday, June 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for non-residents. Camp days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each child can register for a maximum of two sessions during these first registration sessions. Registration required. Registration for Playful Renardi Youngsters will meet new people, expand their circle of friends, discover new talents and take part in fun craft-related activities, including special guests, etc. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis on Thursday, June 14, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for residents only, and on Monday, June 18, starting at 8:30 a.m. at Dieppe City Hall for non-residents. Registration required. Cost: $40/residents and $55/non-residents.
Velo Tour The departure point for this 19th edition will be at Rotary St-Anselme Park and will proceed along the city’s streets and trails. This family event is a fundraising campaign for Dieppe schools. Visit dieppe.ca for a registration form. Cost: $8 Leisure Day and official opening of the Skate park at the Dieppe Youth House The festivities begin at 10 a.m. with music, face painting, inflatable games, “beach” volleyball and a community barbecue. Also on tap are extreme sport demonstrations in the skate park. Everyone is welcome! Free

Canada Day The celebration begins at 6 p.m. at Place 1604 with the cutting of a giant cake, flag-raising, national anthem, concert and games for children. Fireworks sponsored by the municipalities of Dieppe, Moncton and Riverview, as well as Crystal Palace, begin at 10 p.m. along the Petitcodiac River. Free

Dieppe Raid ceremony The Dieppe War Veterans Association will hold a ceremony at 1:30 p.m. at Place 1604 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the raid on Dieppe, France. The ceremony honours the 913 Canadian soldiers who died during combat at the Dieppe Raid during the Second World War. In case of rain: Club d’âge d’or de Dieppe.

Summer youth art camps Eight weeks of camps will be offered to youth aged 5 to 18 beginning June 25. Each week will have a different artistic theme, such as circus arts or ceramics, allowing participants to delve further into the disciplines that interest them. As well, sessionspecific registrations are back to accommodate family vacations. Space is limited.

Quoi de mieux pour fêter cette occasion qu’un spectacle grandiose! Les couleurs acadiennes rayonneront avec un tintamarre en auto du Parc Dover au CCNB-Dieppe pour ensuite se poursuivre à pied jusqu’à la Place 1604. Une cérémonie protocolaire et le spectacle de la Fête nationale de l’Acadie diffusée à la Télévision Radio-Canada auront lieu en début de soirée suivi d’un autre spectacle musical en plein air pour terminer le tout. What better way to celebrate this occasion than to have a big party! Acadian pride will be on full colourful display with a ‘tintamarre’ by car from Dover Park to CCNBDieppe, followed by a ‘tintamarre’ on foot to Place 1604. An official ceremony and a spectacular show to celebrate National Acadian Day – broadcast live on Télévision Radio-Canada will be held early in the evening. A second outdoor showcase will complete the celebration.
