'Visual Vibes on Villard' recognizes Milwaukee's diverse art community On Saturday, September 26, 2020, Villard Avenue BID #19 and Alderman Ashanti Hamilton (front row, second from left) invited residents to attend "Visual Vibes on Villard - Artist Appreciation," at the North Miilwaukee Art Haus, 5151 N. 35th Street. The event celebrated muralists Ammar Nsoroma, Teresa Sahar, Kevin Soens, Chacho Lopez, Byada Briona, and Chavez Conway who have used their talents to help beautify the neighborhood with their art, uplifting messages, and encouragement. The event marked the completion of a 5-mural corridor project that was spearheaded by Villard Avenue BID #19 manager Angelique Sharp (front row, second from right).

Gloria Miller celebrates 69th birthday

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity helps get voters registered for 2020 Presidential Election

On Friday, September 25, 2020, St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care Special Events Director Gloria Miller (center) celebrated her 69th birthday during St. Ann's Free Refreshment Friday at St. Ann's Bucyrus Campus, 2450 West North Avenue. Sixty-nine of her friends, family, neighbors and co-workers joined her in celebrating her birthday "old school." Music was provided by Lady Dee Jai, to party, dance, or to stroll around the facility.

On Saturday, September 26, 2020, the men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., set up at Gee’s Clippers, 2200 N. Dr. M.L.King, Jr., Dr., to register voters for the 2020 Presidential Election. The Kappas, along with other voter registration volunteer organizations, will be all over the city getting people registered to vote, prior to the election on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

North Shore Bank donates to Neighborhood House Food Pantry On Thursday, September 24, 2020, North Shore Bank donated $500 to non-profit partner Neighborhood House of Milwaukee in support of their food pantry serving the community. The donation was part of North Shore Bank’s "Bank on Kindness" initiative. Neighborhood House staff and kids gather for photo with the donation check and coffee and treats were provided for their staff and volunteers, in celebration of the donation.
