Dream Chasing announces return of teen mentoring program
On July 27, 2017 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, the highly successful Dream Chasing program, which went on hiatus during the great recession of 2009, celebrated a sampling of its past student participants who are now working professionals and announced the restart of the program. It is designed to motivate inner-city teens by connecting them with professionals in various careers, from law enforcement, medicine, the construction trades, teaching, computer programming and engineering. The teens will also go on a 10 day cross-country excursion, visiting America’s best colleges and universities – including HBCUs, large and small, public, private and Ivy League schools to discover a new lifestyle while uncovering their own purpose in life. Dream Chasing ran from 2000-2008 and impacted 107 mostly inner-city teens.
