To our Subscribers and those about to become Subscribers, One of my favorite parts of my job is attending every performance of our spring show and personally renewing subscriptions. I’m not sure there’s another Executive Artistic Director who does this, but for me, the opportunity to connect with you face-to-face is invaluable. I get to tell you how much you mean to this company, not only through your subscriptions, but through the many ways you support SLAC. And in return, you tell me what SLAC means to you. These conversations are priceless. Hearing your stories validates the passion and hard work of our staff, board, and artists. It reminds us why we do what we do. I’ve heard things like: “I found my people here.” “I don’t care what plays you’re producing, I know the shows will be good if I’m seeing them at SLAC.” “Thank you for what you do! We need SLAC.”
For those of you who have been part of SLAC for as long as, or even longer, than I have, you hold a special place in my heart. I often joke that you’ve watched me grow up. The truth is, you have, and we’ve shared decades of stories, artists, triumphs, and challenges together, and I’m deeply grateful.
If you’re not a Subscriber and you’re reading this, you already know SLAC. You know what it feels like to gather in a room full of the loveliest humans on this planet, and experience something together that can make you laugh out loud, shed a tear, or see the world a little differently. I’d love for you to take one more step: become a Subscriber and be part of this company. In turn, you will get a season of unforgettable stories, meaningful connections, and extraordinary theatre. And next spring, I look forward to personally thanking you and renewing your subscription.
SLAC has enriched my life in countless ways, especially through the relationships I’ve built with you.
With love and gratitude,
Cynthia Executive Artistic Director

Jenna Say-Kwah, also known as Scotty Fletcher, is very excited to be making her drag debut in SLAC’s Summer Show! As Scotty, they have performed at SLAC in You Will Get Sick, Bat Boy: The Musical, Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience, and the NPSS staged reading of Beloved King. Although this won’t be their first time in heels and glitter on the SLAC stage, they are excited to share their passion for drag and for rebellious queer art. “Currently trying to trademark becoming the worst version of myself!” You can follow Jenna @JennaSayKwah and Scotty @ScooterFletch on Instagram.
(She/They) is delighted to return to Salt Lake Acting Company, where audiences may remember her from Saturday’s Voyeur (2016 & 2017) and as Julia the Lawyer Pig in The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. She has appeared in 40+ productions across Utah with incredible companies including Hale Centre Theatre, The Ziegfeld Theater, Hart Theatre Company, Terrace Plaza Playhouse, Utah Opera, Salt Lake Acting Company, and the Park City

Egyptian Theatre. Favorite roles include Lady of the Lake (Spamalot), Katherine (Freaky Friday), The Drowsy Chaperone (The Drowsy Chaperone), Marguerite (The Scarlet Pimpernel), and Gloria Matienne in Hale Centre Theatre’s 2025 U.S. premiere of The Magician’s Elephant. When she’s not onstage, Becky works behind the scenes as a freelance producer and designer, developing theatrical collaborations across the Wasatch Front, and currently serves as Day Manager and Business Liaison for the Park City Egyptian Theatre. @BeckyJHunt
ANGEL MARTINEZ (He/Him) In 2000, Angel began his acting career reenacting his favorite scenes from The Matrix and Shrek with his father in the living room. Following graduation, he got a taste for performing on an NYC stage during the 2016 Jimmy Awards. In 2018, Martinez completed a year of classical training in LA, CA, and now dabbles in Jazz Crooning for various retirement homes! Angel sincerely thanks you for supporting live theatre. “Actors are merely people in the light who show those in the dark what it’s like to be human.” - Anonymous | @TheBoxiest
MARC NIELSON* (He/Him) Time can be so disconcerting. Every year that goes by, I find myself marveling at how little I’ve accomplished, and I feel a sense of deep self-satisfaction. When I was a child, I was asked by my parents what I wanted my longterm goals to be, and I said, “Trains!” So, they waited a few more years and asked me again. This time, I told them that what I wanted most out of life is to never be remembered for doing anything ever, and I’ve stuck to that. Nobody remembers the time I scored the winning touchdown at the 2018 Super Bowl, or when I was the first human ever to boogie board across the Atlantic Ocean, or even the time when I was the only person to fly a solo mission to the moon for NASA. Nobody remembers because I wasn’t there, and those things didn’t happen. So, as you are watching this performance, I would ask you to remember that the actor on stage is not me, I am not here, and none of this is happening. God Bless.

Pollution is here and now. These are the things that scream for a response. And if we don’t listen to that scream - and if we don’t respond to it - we may well wind up sitting amidst our own rubble, looking for the truck that hit us - or the bomb that pulverized us. Get the license number of whatever it was that destroyed the dream. And I think we will find that the vehicle was registered in our own name.” -Rod Serling

Special Thanks: The Grand Theatre

The Green Room Gallery is a space for conversation, enjoyment, and reflection, but most importantly, it is another way for SLAC to support Utah artists. During the run of SLAC’s Summer Show: The Gaslight Zone, we are excited to showcase the artwork of Katie Mansfield.
Katie is the designer behind this year’s subscription T-shirt, and her work is the perfect reflection of the 2026 edition of SLAC’s Summer Show: funny, timely, and at times, biting. To purchase a piece of art visit the Box Office!
Katie Mansfield is an artist here in Salt Lake City. She is the creator of Tragic Girls, an art and apparel brand inspired by retro comics and pop art. Her work explores everyday problems through a humorous, often sarcastic, feminist lens.
Planning a group outing? SLAC makes it easy (and rewarding). Purchase 10 or more tickets to get up to 20% off the ticket price.
Make your theater outing a party! Group Space Reservations are available all season long. Book our Green Room or Deck for your pre-show gathering at no extra cost. Contact the Box Office to learn more or reserve your group today.

Choose a tote bag or t-shirt (while supplies last), featuring original artwork by local artist Katie Mansfield of Tragic Girls Co. Check out her work at @TragicGirlsCo
Subscribe in person, online, or over the phone—our team is happy to help secure your spot for a season of plays you won’t find anywhere else in Utah.
Thanks for showing up for local art. We couldn’t do this without you.

Please join us Monday, July 27 at 7 PM for the NPSS free reading of Mary in the Looney Bin: The Fanciful History of Mary Todd Lincoln’s Confinement by Larry West. Was Mary Todd Lincoln crazy, clairvoyant or a Cassandra? Her son, Robert, had her committed to a sanitarium for disturbed women in 1875. Based on a smattering of actual facts and abundant flights of fancy, Mary in the Looney Bin is a cockamamie account of the First Lady’s confinement.
Contact the Box Office at (801) 363-7522 or visit our website to book your tickets. While the reading is free, tickets are required to reserve your spot.
