Director’s Note Dear Odyssey Patron, What another amazing year for Odyssey, and it’s hard to believe that we are now in our 23rd season of Thriller!

When we first produced this show, we had sold only 50 tickets for four mere performances four days away from opening. Now we are performing in Price, Park City, Ogden, Logan, Provo, and at Kingsbury Hall and Tuacahn.

Although we do new pieces in the show every year, it is amazing how many of the original pieces we put together still remain the staples of the production.

We had the chance to tour Europe again this last spring for the fourteenth consecutive year, and we’ve won Best of State Dance Company for the fourteenth year in a row!

We are celebrating our 25th year and through those years we’ve created numerous full-length productions and really stretched our artistic muscle with multiple world-premiere works, all the while creating a whole new audience for dance. When I look at the photo below of the original Company, in some ways it feels like it was only yesterday but in other ways it feels like it was in a different century (which it was!!) We hardly dared hope that what started as just a group of dancers with a dream would still be around and thriving a quarter of a century later!

Guest Artist DARLA DAY is the Director of Aeris Aerial Arts in Sandy, Utah.

She’s been performing professionally as a principal aerialist for over 10 years with companies such as Circus Chimera, Cirque USA, Cirque Du Soleil, J&D Entertainment, BYUtv, Ke$ha, The Osmands, among other stars. She has been working with Odyssey Thriller since 2012. She works as a professional director and choreographer nationally and in Japan. She has been the director of music videos for One Voice Children’s choir, BYU Vocal Point (aerial director), Lexi Walker, Wonderama (aerial ), and Sony. She is also the proud mother of 2 amazing boys.

She and her husband Nik Day started a non-profit called 90&9 which promotes healthy living though the performing arts and was their reaction to a world increasing in suicide rates and struggles in our youth. Together they wrote the show ‘Fighter’ a Cirque-Pop Phenomenon about a Phoenix Rising from the Ashes.
