When you pair “adventure ready” with “city savvy,” you’ll find a vehicle that lives at the intersection of downtown avenues and mountain roads: the BMW X3.
With a reimagined design and sporty handling, the latest iteration of this icon doesn’t just tackle any journey with ease; it draws attention while doing it.
And it wouldn’t earn the X3 name without versatility at its heart and a premium interior that makes it unmistakably BMW.
Visit BMW of Murray or BMW of Pleasant Grove for exceptional offers on the BMW X3.
It’s the holidays, and this year, things are different . For years, Isabella and her father have read A Visit from Saint Nicholas (‘Twas the Night Before Christmas) together . But this year Isabella feels like she’s outgrown the family tradition . But then the magic of the poem comes to life, and Isabella and her father are unexpectedly separated by a snowstorm that sends them on a fantastical journey
In a winter wonderland inspired by the poem, they discover whimsical characters, acrobats, children, and reindeer who reunite father and daughter in the holiday spirit .
Each of the acts performed in ‘Twas the Night Before… is inspired by separate lines from Clement Clarke Moore’s A Visit from St. Nicholas .
Hotel Cart
This act, in which a spoiled starlet named Ava discards her toys, finds its roots in this part of the poem:

“A wink of her eye! A twist of her head!
With a sleigh full of toys”

An aerial performance about the poetic beauty of snow, inspired by:

“As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky”
The high-energy and hilarious Acro Table act was inspired by this well-known passage: “The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads’’…
Like all children on holiday, their anticipation for Santa’s arrival keeps them up as they perform a high energy and hilarious acrobatic act, making a ruckus on and off their bed, when suddenly, they’re interrupted by the sound of reindeer hooves on the roof which sends them straight back under the covers!

Winter Wonderland
When what to my wondering eyes did appear!”
In our show, there is a magical light that transforms our world into the scenes of a bright winter day .
Roller Skates
“Away to the window I flew like a flash, tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!”
Isabella’s Number
Father and daughter re-united at last, he offers Isabella her gift once more . This time she sees it through very different eyes! Inspired by all she has seen on her journey, Isabella rediscovers the light of the holiday spirit, embracing her gift in an act of joy and gratitude, encouraged by all those who have guided her along the way .

“When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter!”
In this Winter Wonderland, a young couple skates on a frozen lake . Isabella watches as their increasing virtuosity and daring prove their trust in one another . . . and their love .

“And laying her finger aside of her nose, and giving a nod, up the chimney she rose;”
Into twilight’s darkening sky, a twinkling silhouette rises from the earth . This mystical figure reminds Isabella of the present her father gave her and of her love of home .
A mischievous kid starts a snowball fight that grows and grows and OVERFLOWS into the audience!
Diabolo
Another act inspired by the description of Santa Claus in the poem:
“His eyes — how they twinkled! His dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!’’
On a frosty winter night, four young boys appear in their sparkling puffy coats They pass the holiday spirit between them

Two audience members are brought up onstage to join the fun!
Alone in the moonlight, disheartened by his inability to find his daughter, Isabella’s father regains faith through the spirit of the poem expressed here:

“The moon on the breast of the newfallen snow, gave a lustre of midday to objects below…”
With Jolly revealed as Santa Claus, the cast gathers to wish everyone: Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
Reunited at last, Isabella’s father once again opens the book Together, they read the lines that introduce Santa’s reindeer . . . . our hoop divers, whose playful energy seems to leap straight from the
concluding section of the poem:
“More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, and he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name; Now Dasher! Now Dancer!
Now Prancer and Vixen!
On Comet! On Cupid! On Donner! and Blitzen!’’
Santa’s team of reindeer literally jump through hoops to celebrate the reunion of Isabella and her dad . Each one shows off his ability to fly through the air when their name is called .

By Joshua Jones, Downtown Alliance
The acrobats will soar, and your spirits will too with a little post-show holiday cheer in Downtown Salt Lake City. As you leave the Eccles, just steps from the stage awaits a wintery playground full of jolly jaunts to make Santa himself jealous. From cozy cafés to photo ops that sleigh, here’s how to turn your Cirque night into a whole downtown delight.
Sugar, Spice, and Everything Diced: Where to Eat After The Curtain
• Eva’s Bakery – Literally three doors south of Eccles on Main Street sits a facade as cute as a Gingerbread House. Santa will approve of the rich, milky hot cocoa and colorful French Macarons that will melt in your mouth!
• Red Rock Brewing Co. – This warm and bustling, international-award winning brewery welcomes families. Grown-ups should sip on the Griswald’s Holiday Ale, brewed with cinnamon, orange peel, and clove–it tastes like Christmas in a glass!
• Siegfried’s Delicatessen – Warm up with schnitzel and strudel at this holiday hideaway straight out of a Christmas market. It’s like teleporting to Europe… without the jet lag.
• Capo Gelateria – Is gelato in December a little chilly, maybe even a lil’ cra’?! Yes, stick with the season and try the peppermint stick.
Frosty Photo Ops & Whimsical Wanders
Maybe you’ve got some courage after witnessing Cirque du Soleil’s festive flurry of flips? Do some of your own under the twinkling lights on

the Gallivan Plaza Ice Rink! (And for just $10 to $12, it is kind of a steal). Even cheaper is Macy’s long-standing Holiday Windows which get more ornate and beautiful every year. And, while you’re at City Creek Center, don’t miss your opportunity to get some one-on-one with the man of the hour–SANTA CLAUS! (Reservations are highly recommended.)
Want a little quiet magic time? Pop into the Clark Planetarium at The Gateway and search for the North Pole or catch a movie in the Dome Theater. Stop into the Salt Lake Public Library, where the architecture is as swoon-worthy as any snow globe scene.

Finally, don’t miss the Downtown Farmers Market at the Leonardo on Saturday 10-2. This is the best place to find a special present and farm fresh food!
After the Applause: Keep the Cheer in High Gear
Still buzzing from the sugarplum sparkle of acrobats and awe? Satisfy postshow cravings with:
• Rockwell Ice Cream – Just behind Eccles is the land of sweet treats. This season they’ll offer White Christmas Crack, Candy Cane Oreo, and Biscoff Eggnog. Yum!
• Keys on Main or The Tavernacle –These piano bars will have you singing louder than carolers on caffeine.
• WanYen – One of our favorite new finds! We want to wake up to their creations every day. Try the Thai Tea Custard Toast, or the Mango Ice Cream with Sticky Rice–you’ll have to trust us.

A Snowy Sleepover? Yes, Please.
If you’re visiting from out of town or just want to make a night of it, the newly remodeled Hotel Monaco will have a splendid holiday-themed pop-up at The Vault and the brand new Asher Adams in the Union Pacific Railroad Depot is where you can re-create The Polar Express!
We hope this guide is going to lead you to a fa-la-la-la-FANTASTIC night on the town. Remember, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just people who don’t plan for the weather, so bundle up and have a magical experience Downtown. After all, the night before Christmas only comes once a year—might as well make it cirque-tacular.
