Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to our wonderful theatre for our first programme of events in our 25th anniversary year! This year will be one of celebrations as we look back on the many memorable world-class acts that have graced our stage since we first opened in 2001 and we can’t wait to celebrate with you, our incredibly encouraging and loyal customers. I am forever grateful that you have continued to support us throughout the years; whether it’s to celebrate, perform or simply be entertained, we’re privileged to have been able to inspire you along life’s journey for 25 glorious years.

As we make preparations for our 25th birthday, we’d love to hear your stories and memories from the years past. Please do send them into us by email to info@millenniumforum.co.uk so that we might share them on our social media platforms throughout the year. We’ve also got lots of fabulous events planned for this celebratory year, so stay tuned for more announcements coming soon!

Our season opens with our brand new inhouse revival of the critically acclaimed, The White Handkerchief in January. I am delighted to be working with local director, Kieran Griffiths and composer, Brian O’Doherty, to bring Liam Campbell’s poignant story to life on our stage. I hope that this new production depicting such a dark time in our city’s history will help be

a guiding light for our citizens and future generations.

As always, there’s lots of comedy on offer this season with favourites, Dara O’Briain, Al Murray, Neil Delamere, Shane Todd, Serena Terry and the Give My Head Peace gang all returning to our stage.

Once again, we have plenty of fantastic live music from Tommy Fleming, Imelda May and Nathan Carter. I’m also delighted to welcome Curtis Stigers to our stage for the annual City of Derry 25th Anniversary Jazz Festival.

There’s always something on offer for our younger audiences and this year is no exception as we welcome back Peppa Pig and Dino Tales to our stage. The phenomenon that is K Pop will also arrive in town this year as the K Pop All Stars show brings its high-energy pop music to the city. We saw an unprecedented response to tickets for this one, so we’re excited for local audiences to experience it.

Don’t forget to get your tickets to the worldwide phenomenon that is Miss Saigon which arrives with us in May. I can’t wait for you to experience this breathtaking production on our stage for the very first time.

As always, thank you for your continued support; without it, we can’t continue to bring you these world-class productions. I hope you enjoy the new season.

With a cast of young performers—many the same age as those who were shot on Bloody Sunday on 30th January 1972 —and an ensemble that gives voice to family members, clergy and community, this brand new Millennium Forum in-house revival directed by Kieran Griffiths, doesn’t simply depict history; it asks the audience to inhabit it. The White Handkerchief becomes more than memorial. It becomes a healing space for wounded communities. A reckoning. A call to the living to ask what justice, dignity and truth mean today.

Now remounted to open the 25th anniversary year of the Millennium Forum and central to next year’s Bloody Sunday commemorations, The White Handkerchief continues its powerful journey—not only as an artistic achievement but as a profound act of communal courage.

“Fr Daly’s white handkerchief wasn’t just a symbol. It carried the essence of the lost—the blood and tears of innocence. It was an act of faith. Of defiance. Of mercy. And now, it’s a song.”

We must remember, we must grieve and we must speak.

Vittorio Angelone has always denied any involvement in stand-up comedy or standup comedy related activities.

Despite this, after two completely sold-out tours in 2023 and 2024 – with over 100 packed-out shows – he’s heading back on the road with a brand new show.

One of the fastest-rising names in comedy, Vittorio has built a loyal and attractive following with stand-up clips and podcasts racking up millions of views. He co-hosts Mike & Vittorio’s Guide to Parenting with fellow comedian Mike Rice and is a cocreator of Fin vs The Internet.
