Yee I-Lann: Until We Hug Again is the first solo exhibition in Hong Kong of Yee I-Lann, an internationally acclaimed contemporary artist from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. In her thoughtful and highly collaborative artistic practice with female weavers in Sabah communities, Yee sheds light on the power dynamics within the Southeast Asian Archipelago and the region's intricate multi-ethnic cultural identity and heritage. This catalogue records the display of her remarkable works at CHAT, many of which embody Yee I-Lann’s collaborations with her immediate communities in Sabah as well as cross-cultural exchanges with communities in Hong Kong.
