Sixty Two Thousand Lose Pay & Benefits Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced all U.S. troops will be required to get the COVID vaccine or be forced out of their careers in the military – a move supported by President Joe Biden . Unvaccinated soldiers in the U.S. Army National Guard and Reserve who have not received an exemption may no longer participate in federally funded drills and training and will not receive pay or retirement credit, the Army has announced.

At least 40,000 Army National Guard soldiers across the country – or about 13% of the force – have not received the Pentagon-mandated vaccine. In addition, roughly 22,000 Reservists will also be subject to punishment, including flags, bars to service, and official reprimands, the Army said. “In the future, Soldiers who continue to refuse the vaccination order without an exemption may be subject to additional adverse administrative

action, including separation,” the Army said in a statement. “Unit commanders will be able to activate and pay Soldiers for limited administrative purposes, such as receiving the vaccine, processing their exemption requests, or conducting separation procedures. Soldiers will be paid and/or receive retirement credit for these service days,” the statement continued.

The director of the Army Guard said the U.S. military service branch will continue to work with its soldiers to comply with the COVID-19 order. “We’re going to give every soldier every opportunity to get vaccinated and continue their military career,” Director of the Army Guard, Lt. Gen. Jon Jensen said. “We’re not giving up on anybody until the separation paperwork is signed and completed.”

As CBN News reported, Guardsmen and Reservists had until June 30 to receive the COVID-19 shots. Published data reportedly indicated that 20% to 30% of the Guardsmen in six states were not vaccinated right before the deadline, along with more than 10% in 43 other states. More than reportedly

7,700 soldiers have sought religious

exemptions. According to the Army’s latest statistics released on July 8, only 19 of these religious accommodations have been approved and only for activeduty personnel. So far, no exemptions have been approved for Guardsmen or Reservists. U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), a retired Navy lieutenant commander and a former Navy SEAL, criticized Austin’s order on social media . In a series of tweets posted

to Twitter on Friday, U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw wrote: “And now we have the potentially disastrous situation before us - where our readiness is suffering and our military is less capable than it otherwise would be. Was it worth it? Was ‘putting our foot down’ worth it? H*** no, it wasn’t.” “And why do we need to separate service members from the military en masse for refusal?” the Texas congressman asked. “The

DOD has a huge array of disciplinary options before them. Why choose the most extreme option with the most extreme consequences?” Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is determined to reduce our military . Austin and Bishop Garrison, his senior adviser said anyone who voted for President Trump are all racist and should be rooted out of the service .

Chargers Report:

POSITIONAL RANKINGS - DEFENSE ESPN recently listed their top 10 players at 11 positions based on a survey of more than 50 league executives, coaches, scouts and players. The objective was to find the top players currently at their respective positions heading into the 2022 season, not projections of players five years down the road. Of the five defensive position groups covered, the Chargers placed just three players among their respective rankings while failing to land any players at the defensive tackle and off-ball linebacker positions. Per ESPN, here is a look at the Chargers who made their list.

“He always has a plan. He’s setting up his moves for later in the game, and he’s got great technique,” an NFL

Mack in Los Angeles via an offseason trade. That means potentially even more production for Bosa in 2022. “Relentless effort,” an AFC offensive coach said. “He’s the guy you have to worry about on every snap.” Cornerback — J.C. Jackson, No. 5. Age: 27. Last year’s ranking: 10. Compared closely to Dolphins’ CB Xavier Howard (No. 4), the Chargers signed Jackson to a five-year, $82.5 million contract after he produced 17 interceptions in his past 33 games. Opposing quarterbacks averaged a 48.4 passer rating when throwing toward Jackson, who gave up 627 yards on 96 targets (50 receptions), per NFL Next Gen Stats. One AFC defensive coach said a recent All-Pro corner told him Jackson has the best ball skills he has ever seen. “A lot of corners can track the football, but not many can catch the flash of the football,” the coach said. “Now all of a sudden, the PBU [pass breakup] a good player makes, he picks that. He’s one of a few that can do it consistently.”

EDGE Rushers — Joey Bosa, No. 4. Age: 26. Last year’s ranking: 3. In five healthy seasons, Bosa has won Defensive Rookie of the Year and made four Pro Bowls. And he just produced his fourth double-digit-sack season (10.5) and a career-high seven forced fumbles in 2021. 10

personnel evaluator said. “He’s just a classic edge rusher. He’s a nightmare for a tackle because of the way he keeps you guessing.” Bosa was double-teamed on 23% of his pass rushes last year, but that rate could decline with the arrival of Khalil

Safety — Derwin James, No. 4. Age: 25. Last year’s ranking: 9. “He’s one of the few safeties you can do everything with,” an NFL frontoffice official said. “He’s a special player when he’s out there.” But being out there has long been James’ problem. He missed a combined 27 games from 2019-20 with multiple foot injuries. James bounced back in 2021 with 117 tackles (tied for

third among defensive backs), two sacks, two interceptions and three forced fumbles in 15 games. But he still had a few minor issues, including a hamstring injury and a separated shoulder. Offseason shoulder surgery hasn’t stopped the Chargers from rightly making James a centerpiece of the defense, though. “He’s in the same style of player as [Jamal] Adams and [Budda] Baker, but has been a better cover guy than them,” an NFL coordinator said. “You wonder if the injuries will start to affect that, but this season will say a lot as far as how high he is on the list.” The Endzone: Ranked the top-rated CB in free agency, Jackson’s 23 passes defended led all defensive players in 2021, and only Dallas’ Trevon Diggs (11) had more interceptions than his eight.
