Boots in the Big Apple Marines with the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force aviation combat element land at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, N.Y., May 29. With the MV22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft, CH-46 Sea Knight, AH-1W Cobra and UH-1N helicopters on display, the people of Queens got a taste of what U.S. Marine Corps aviation is all about. Families, children and even future devil-dogs in the Marine Corps delayed entry program, explored the aircraft in excitement and curiosity. Since there are no military installations in New York City, many of the local people have never seen military aircraft up close and personal. The Marines interacted with the community and explained to them functions of the aircraft and what their day-today.
