arines from marine corps Base camp lejeune will have an opportunity to volunteer for the Ground combat element integrated task force, in an effort to expand the opportunities for women to serve in combat operations, June 2 and June 3 at marston Pavilion. the Gceitf will be comprised of approximately 500 marines, including male and female volunteers and directed assignment marines, activating at camp lejeune in June. the Gceitf will train female marine volunteers in ground combat arms military occupational specialty skills, and integrate them into a combat unit, while a dedicated research team observes the unit’s performance in an operational environment. enlisted marines who wish to volunteer must be a sergeant or below with less than nine years in service. recruiting briefs will be conducted for camp lejeune non commissioned officer’s at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and for junior marines at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. female marines may volunteer in one of the following combat arms moss;

to volunteer will participate only within their combat arms primary mos. Volunteers who are selected to participate in the Gceitf and their respective commanders will be notified upon their selection by
headquarters marine corps. female marines will receive orders to appropriate entry level schools no later than June 13. Volunteers cannot be pending disciplinary actions and must be in a full-duty
status. all volunteers must be capable of completing at least a third class score on the male Physical fitness test and have an end of active service date after oct. 1, 2015. marines who wish to volunteer but will not be present
