100 FSS SPOTLIGHT SPOTLIGHT

Meet the New Manager: Libia Lagares

A Fresh Perspective for the Galaxy Club

With a rich professional background deeply rooted in the culinary side of hospitality, our new Galaxy Club manager brings valuable back-of-house experience from renowned restaurant groups like Brinker (Romano’s Macaroni Grill), The Cheesecake Factory, and P.F. Chang’s. This extensive culinary foundation is set to enhance the club's exceptional food and guest-centered experiences, building upon the existing creativity and top-tier customer service of the Galaxy team.

The initial vision for the Galaxy Club is to solidify its position as the primary destination for our airmen, particularly those residing in the dorms. The aim is to create a welcoming community hub where affordable, comforting meals are offered, and airmen can

relax and connect with friends. Beyond just a place to eat, the club is envisioned as an environment where all ranks can connect and foster stronger team cohesion. A key initial focus area is the enhancement of the club's food offerings.

What's particularly loved about the Galaxy Club is its inherent potential as a gathering space that naturally brings people together for various occasions. Looking ahead, the focus will be on building upon this positive energy by introducing fresh, innovative ideas, further elevating the culinary experience, and creating engaging events that truly establish the club as a home away from home for our airmen. The message to the base community is clear: this is

your club. Everything we do is centered around you, and the goal is to cultivate a welcoming space where everyone feels valued and included. Your feedback regarding events, meals, and overall experiences is considered vital. To stay informed and actively participate in shaping the Galaxy Club's future, all members are encouraged to sign up for club membership, follow the club on Facebook, and subscribe to the newsletter. This direct engagement is the best way to ensure the Galaxy Club evolves to fully meet the community's needs and desires.

About Breckland Pines Golf Course

Built in 1961, Breckland Pines Golf Course (BPGC) sits on light, sandy soil that’s freedraining, providing the perfect turf to play golf. Lined by established pine trees, the course is open enough to allow the occasional wild drive, but designed in such a way that rewards accurate iron plan. And, if you do miss the green, your short game will be tested to the max! Each hole has two separate tee boxes, so if you play a full eighteen holes, each nine will bring you a different challenge. Anyone with base access is welcome to come and play at any time (unless we’re hosting a tournament!). Visit lakenheathfss.com or visit our Facebook page to see a full event schedule.
