Dear Friends, The idea for this day is simple: show up and learn. Show up on Saturday, May 4 to join with parishioners and sister Episcopalians to get linked with a fabulous local organization in Denver doing great work in partnership with people who are vulnerable in one way or another. Our Faith in Action Commission has cultivated relationships with these organizations over many years, and a member of FIA, Susan Chenier, created Love Denver Day last year.

Year Two promises to be wonderful.

I look forward to seeing you at 9 am in Dagwell Hall.

Regardless of your age or ability, there will be a service opportunity for you. We know we can only make a little difference in one day but this day is really about planting a seed that will bear fruit over time. With God’s help, the connections made on Love Denver Day have the potential to turn into relationships.

Registration is open March 31 - May 1.

CHARG (charg.org) We will be painting several rooms at the CHARG Resource Center. Please bring paint brushes, rollers, trays, and tarps if you have them and wear clothing that can get paint stains!

Ages of Volnteers: 15+ (15-18 with an adult) Location: 709 East 12th Avenue, Denver 80203 enter on 12th Avenue Community Outreach Services (Agapechristianchurch.org) Something for everyone! Agape would like help with meal prep, planting a garden, painting some recreation equipment, and organizing clothes in their Service Center.

Please wear clothes that can get dirty.

Ages of Volnteers: 13+ Location: 2501 California Street, Denver 80205 Cookies for Cops A new program specifically for our youngest volunteers!

We will be decorating cookies and delivering them to our local police department to thank them for their service.

Please wear clothes that love icing and sprinkle.

Earthlinks (earthinks-Colorado.org) We will be working in the Peace Garden and helping to make craft products for sale in their gift shop. Please wear closed toe shoes, gloves to work outside and bring a water bottle. You will need to complete a volunteer application which can be done at SJC before you head out Saturday morning.

Team Leader: Mary Lynn Grover Number of Volunteers: up to 20 with no bee allergies Time: 10:00 - 5:00pm. Bring lunch.

Ages of Volnteers: 12+ (12-16 with an adult) Location: 2746 West 13th Avenue, Denver 80204 Family Promise (familypromiseofgreaterdenver.org) We will be helping in a variety of areas - cleaning, yard work, organizing donations, stuffing envelopes, etc.

Please wear clothes that can get dirty and gardening gloves would be helpful for outside activities.

Team Leader: Becky Parnell Number of Volunteers: up to 10 Time: 1:00 - 4:00pm Ages of Volnteers: any age but supervision for kids Location: TBD Near 6th and Santa Fe MetroCaring (metrocaring.org) MetroCaring is opening their warehouse just for us! We will be stocking and organizing donations. Please wear clothes that can get dirty, closed toe shoes and bring a water bottle.

Morey Middle School Come help our next door neighbor prepare their planting spaces with compost and soil. Please wear clothes that can get dirty, closed toe shoes, and bring gardening gloves and a water bottle.

Ages of Volnteers: 12+ (12-16 with an adult) Location: across Clarkson from SJC Network Ministries (networkcoffeehouse.org) Network needs help with spring cleaning both inside and out! Please bring cleaning supplies for the kitchen, windows, and meeting rooms and gardening gloves if working outside.

LOVE DENVER DAY EVENT SCHEDULE Saturday 9 am - meet in Dagwell Hall for muffins and coffee/chocolate milk. Dean Richard will commission us.

Saturday 10 am - 5 pm - work with your agency partner according to their needs and your schedule.

Sunday 11:45 am - celebrate Loving Denver with lunch in Dagwell Hall and share stories from your day of service. continued from inside St. Francis Center (sfcdenver.org) This year we will be working at the downtown location sprucing up their outdoor space and helping to organize donations. Please bring gardening gloves for working outside.
