Established in 1988, the IFPO is an inclusive and diverse organization, with members and students globally.

The mental health and wellbeing of frontline officers, supervisors and managers is paramount. Through sharing resources, producing webinars, advocacy and designing engaging education programs, IFPO is seeking to support security practitioners and those they interact with.

Membership is open to individual security practitioners, security organisations and corporate end users.

Our UK & I Advisory Board is drawn from across the sector with most of its members having experience on SECURITY the frontline as security officers or in the police or military. Many of the AB also hold leadership roles with other industry associations. ifpo.uk/membership/

E DUCATI O N AND CE RTI FI CATI O N Over 92,500 security professionals have attained IFPO, globally, recognised certifications. These certifications can be delivered online, in person or by distance learning. ifpo.uk/education Certified Protection Officer (CPO) The CPO program is designed for career-oriented security officers and supervisors who wish to learn more about security & asset protection.

CPOs, CSSMs and CPOIs are required to recertify every two years, by showing continual professional development.

QUALITY SECURITY EDUCATION Certified in Security Supervision and Management (CSSM) Unique and flexible, the CSSM program is designed to meet the needs of the security supervisor or manager. CSSM Students need to have three years’ relevant SECURITY experience.

CPOIs are instructors, professors, consultants and supervisors who teach various topics relating to security and asset protection.

They advance the objectives of the IFPO within their respective areas of employment. Being designated as a Certified Protection Officer Instructor is a noteworthy achievement. It is a significant career milestone.

The IFPO provides professional learning opportunities for security practitioners to build the knowledge, skills and competencies required to maximize job performance and enhance career potential.

Through advocacy, promoting training standards, providing accessible training, education and certification opportunities, we seek to enhance their professional standing as well as increase the perception of the vital services they provide.

IFPO works collaboratively with industry bodies and other membership associations.

It is represented on the BSI Private Security Management & Services Committee, The SIA Apprenticeship Trailblazer Group, The Security Commonwealth and strives to maintain good working relationships across the security profession.
