Howeve r, t h rough th e years of reclam a t i o n a n d t h e con st r u c t ion of highways, Sh eun g Wan s ee m s to b e d isconn e c te d a s n ew an d old zon es. D ue to thi s p h e n o m e n on , Sh e u n g Wan seems to loses its c ul t u ra l i n te re st .

A i m of t h e proj e c t is to ex plore lan d an d sea rel a t i o n s h i p in Sh e u n g Wa n , foc usin g on th e street ( b rid g e ) t h a t is con n e c t in g f rom Western M arket to M a ca o Fe rr y Bu s Te rmin u s. Lookin g at h ow this street is es s e n t i a l for t h e loca l re sid e nts an d conn ec tion of th e c i ty f ro m S a i Yin g P u n to Ce n tral. Th e projec t is exp l ori n g ways of ex te n din g th e groun d to blur th e b o u n d a ri e s o f t h e isla n d s in Sh eun g Wan. Blurred b o u n d a ri e s allows pe de st ria n a ccessibility f rom th e inn er l an d to re cl a im e d la n d , to a c t ivate Sh eun g Wan by takin g a dva n t a g e o f t h e sea f ront .

It is a ve r y rural pla ce, wh ere th ere are s m a l l n u m b e r of re sid e nt s a n d it is m ore likely a leisure p l a ce . S h e k Pa i Wa n , is a bay which takes 3 0 minute hike f ro m Mo Ta t Wa n p ie r. Du e to its isolation f rom th e c ity, i t ha s a d va n t a ge s of h avin g nature. Birds sin g in g , wave was h i n g a n d t re e s d a n cin g a re m ediatin g , away f rom h u m a n n o i s es.

T h i s p ro j e c t is focu sin g on d ifferent possible users aro u n d t h e yea r. Lookin g a t h ow L amma Islan d will have d i f fe re n t f u n c t ions in d if fe re nt seasons for tourists, f rom swim m e r to h ike r, b u t a lso providin g communal spa ce for th e l oca l re s ide nt s. H oweve r, t his site is o nly used for th e purpose of parki n g l ot , t h u s losin g it s va lue of spa ce.
