Mijas is now flying its five Blue Flags Last Thursday 2nd of July, these five flags were raised at La Luna-Royal Beach, Riviera, El Bombo, El Chaparral and La Cala, alongside the other ‘S’ and ‘Q’ awards certifying the sustainability and overall quality of its beaches. The mayoress, Ana Mata, took part in the flag-raising ceremony, which took place at El Torreón in La Cala, alongside staff from the Beaches Department (headed by councillor Daniel Gómez Teruel), representatives of the lifeguard service and beach operators. It is also worth noting that these accolades are complemented by the Blue Centre at El Torreón and the Blue Trail, which recognises the Coastal Path / NEWS/03 / Beatriz Martín.
