On Monday 15th, the mayoress Ana Mata and the councillor for Beaches, Daniel Gómez Teruel, collected the ‘Q’ for Quality and ‘S’ for Sustainability awards that will fly at the beaches of La Luna-Royal Beach, Alhamar, Calahonda, Riviera, El Bombo, La Cala, La Dorada, El Chaparral and El Charcón. The presentation of the certifications took place at a ceremony held at the Andalucía Lab building in Marbella, attended by the acting regional minister for Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía, Arturo Bernal. During the event, the mayoress stated that “Mijas is the second municipality in Europe with the highest number” of such seals, which recognise the excellence of the coastline in terms of cleanliness, services, safety and hygiene ./ J.
