Dear neighbours:
Once again, we are delighted to welcome the La Cala de Mijas Fair, one of the most cherished celebrations of the year. During these days, our beloved coastal town is transformed into a vibrant place, where music, joy and reunions fill every corner with life. This fair is not just a tradition: it is a bond that unites us, a shared celebration that enlivens our identity and strengthens our sense of community.
We have prepared a programme designed for everyone: musical performances, children’s shows, a daytime fair, dancing... and once again, with a special focus on inclusion. From 19:00 to 21:00 hours, the sound levels at the venue will be reduced so that people with autism spectrum disorders can also enjoy the fair fully, in a calm and comfortable environment.
My sincere thanks go to the Festivities team, the Operational Services and all those who, with their dedication and effort, make this celebration possible. Thank you for putting so
much heart into every detail. I encourage you to experience this fair with enthusiasm, respect and pride in being part of this welcoming and unique land. May these days bring us moments to treasure for a lifetime.

Greeting from the councillor
Dear neighbours, as the Councillor for Festivities and Traditions in Mijas, it is a genuine honour for me to welcome you to the 2025 La Cala de Mijas Fair, one of the most beloved and eagerly awaited celebrations in our municipality.
During these days, our Cala fills with joy, colour, tradition, and the Andalusian spirit that characterises us. We have worked hard to prepare a programme designed for all audiences, from the youngest to the oldest, featuring music, culture, dance, gastronomy, and above all, a great desire to have fun, because that is what the fair is all about.
I would like to thank everyone who has worked tirelessly to make this fair possible: the Town Hall staff, the security forces, and, of course, all of you who bring life and soul to our festivities. You are an indispensable part of it.
So, I invite you to enjoy, share, dance... and experience our fair with joy and respect.

Tuesday 22nd of July
Special children’s day
BY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNCILLOR IN CHARGE OF FESTIVITIES AND THE FAIRGROUND OPERATORS, ALL THE CHILDREN’S RIDES AT THE FAIR WILL BE PRICED AT 2.50 €.
During the fair, from 19:00 to 21:00 hours, the characteristic sound of the rides will be eliminated so that children with special needs can enjoy the fair without acoustic barriers.

The seniors will be welcomed with a sangria cocktail, and greeted by the Festivities Committee and the municipal corporation.
During the dinner, they will be presented with a gift for the Grandfather and Grandmother of the Fair 2025.
The dinner will be offered to all elders who have previously registered at the Municipal Department for Senior Citizens and have collected their invitation.

Decree
Ms Ana Carmen Mata Rico, Mayoress-President of the Honourable Mijas Town Hall, in exercise of the powers granted to her by law,
HEREBY ANNOUNCES
In view of the upcoming celebration of the Festivities and Fair of La Cala 2025, which will take place from the 22nd to the 27th of July 2025, both inclusive, I consider it appropriate to inform you about the various rules of hygiene, respect and coexistence to make these festive days more pleasant.
As far as food and drink outlets are concerned, the following must be complied with:
The price list shall be displayed in a visible place, including the prices of all products served.
All persons who come into direct contact with food as part of their work must hold an official food handler’s certificate.
The Complaint Forms established in Decree 82/2022, of 17 May, (BOJA nº 95, 20 May 2022) will be posted in a visible place and will be available to the public.
Products in which eggs are used as an ingredient must comply with the criteria laid down in the legislation in force as regards their preparation and consumption.
The marketing and consumption of ‘chanquetes’ and other immature fish species is strictly prohibited.
All establishments set up on a temporary basis shall comply with the same regulations governing permanent establishments.
The preparation of meals is prohibited in unauthorised places, both in the open air and inside vehicles, as well as their consumption in places that are not authorised for this purpose.
I would also like to point out other rules that must be observed during our festivities:
The fairground will be closed to traffic of all types of motor vehicles from 08.00 hours, with unloading permitted in the street vending area from 18.00 to 19.00 hours along the side avenues.
All installations located in the fairground (clubs, political groups, attractions, bars, stalls, etc.) will cease their activity at 05.00 hours. From 05.00 hours onwards, music will be stopped both on the rides and in the rest of the activities and stalls on the fairgrounds.
The installation of all types of machines, chairs, tables and counters outside the limits of the plot where the event is held is prohibited.
It is forbidden to distribute or sell tobacco without due authorisation, in compliance with Law 28/2025, of the 26th of December, in fixed or mobile stalls and in unauthorised installations. The sale and use of firecrackers, flares and similar items is strictly forbidden. These will be confiscated by the Local Police and the corresponding complaint will be processed.
Unauthorised street vending is prohibited, and the Local Police may proceed to remove the merchandise being sold, as long as the purchase of the same and its legitimate ownership is not accredited by means of an invoice.
Horses and carriages are authorised to travel through the streets of Mijas, which will be signposted and delimited in this respect, during the celebration of the La Cala Fair. Carriages and horses must be in possession of civil liability insurance in compliance with the provisions of
the applicable regulations.
The exhibition, sale, donation or possession of bladed weapons or objects of similar characteristics will not be permitted, and the Local Police will proceed to report and seize them.
In the fair booths and fairground facilities, special attention will be paid to the prohibition of selling or providing alcoholic beverages to minors.
Booths and clubs located within the fairgrounds must comply with the rules set out in the current Police and Entertainment Regulations, paying special attention to the items relating to safety and fire prevention.
Failure to comply with this rule will be subject to a complaint by the Local Police, which may result in the opening of a disciplinary proceeding and the precautionary closure of the stand. The Local Police and the technicians responsible for the Mijas Town Hall will check compliance with the above provisions.
With the adoption of these measures, it is intended that we all enjoy a few days of festivities in order and that the coexistence between those who participate in the fair is cordial.
I would also like to take this opportunity to invite the residents and entrepreneurs of Mijas to dress up in Andalusian attire and to decorate their establishments and façades with festive motifs to enhance the La Cala Fair and Festivities.
