INTRONDUCTION

It’s my first project in 3D. I have worked in a team with my friends for 7 weeks to complete it. We have made a short animation about Sophia- the fat worm. The story is remaked from Green Cocoon with the new design and some changes (All links are mentioned in Chapter 2: Animation- Sophia story part). I participates in creating storyboard, model, animating and lighting.

Other team members: Anh Le Ngoc, Anh Pham Ngoc, Linh Nguyen Ngoc and Tien Pham Ngoc.

Programs: Maya, Photoshop, Premier, and After Effect.

In these first version models, while the worm form is good, the butterfly form is still too reality. That is why we have to remake the butterfly form.

Element building

I seperate the character design to a lot of parts to be more convenience and easier for modelling. After that, I combine them together, fix polygon web and use symmetry duplicate tactic to finish the model.

The first version models

As you can see, we recycle some polygons for the 2nd version.

It takes 2 days to model them. It’s the first time I model something which is based on human form (especialy the face) so it’s trully a big challenge. I have to create copies for back up whenever I go further in structure.

The final Sophia models

The butterfly form has been remaked to be more humanity.
