Investigate Before You Extubate

Your role in terminal extubations is another opportunity to ensure that an MTN referral or update has been made.

Palliative Care/Hospice/ Case Managers:

Please ask the assigned RN if MTN has been updated, prior to any end-of-life decisions, shift to comfort care and before a hospice consult.

Respiratory Therapists:

Please ask your assigned RN if they have notified MTN prior to every terminal extubation.
